Vtec Controller

Has anyone put one in their car? If so, how was the performance difference and which one did you put in?

Thanks,
Jarod

webtoker has it ... he has said it doesnt do much ... i bet those comptech shocks and intake work great as hinted at by StonedCL. or did you pay comptech too much for koni yellow and a hi flow drop in filter? if that isn't the case, i've got a 6 speed manual comptech tranny for ya oh did I mention ... welcome

WebToker, BeatYaAll, (and maybe AstroBoy ???)

The dynos gained about 4 hp with headers and CAI.

I know they use it with the 3.5L upgrade from Syncivic(Doug) over a Rick Case Acura. But that is a stoked engine.

IMHO -- if you want 4 HP that bad and are stock or "near" stock, maybe you should try some Denso Iridium spark plugs (if you have more than a few miles on your ride).

Thanks for the sarcasm, the comptech shocks are the koni's, and the intake is a COMPTECH drop in filter. However I refer to the shocks and intake as Comptech's because they are the ones marketing the products.

Welcome, nice to have ya. In my opinion if you don't have a shit load of engine mods the V-AFC is useless. By the way, Comptech doesn't make a lot of what you have listed there, they just sell it.

True, but they design it. If anyone is in doubt of the mods, I will be happy to take pictures of the car and mods over the weekend.

Hey, I didn't *and* WebToker's right... You would probably need to really "mod" the engine before the V-AFC would make you feel good about the hole in your pocket book.

BTW -- here is the link (in .pdf form) to BeatYaAll's dyno (with a comparison of before and after of the V-AFC):

i had a spoon sports vtec controller on my prelude vtec. didn't really do that much. looked pretty cool though. it is suppose to allow the vtec to kick in a little sooner but once you're in second gear, it doesn't really matter cuz you're already utilizing the secondary cams. my advice, save your money, not worth it.
