VSA KIcks ASS in SNOW

Well this is my 2nd winter w/ my cl and this weekend we had about 4inchs of snow and my gf decided she wanted to drag me out to the mall to exchange something. Being the nice guy that I am I agree to drive to potomac mills mall (like a 3 miles outlet) I drop her off at the front and i drove to the middle of the parking lot. NO CARS.

I first test my VSA by doing some 'emergency' manuvers on fresh snow that no one had touched. and then I tried it w/ VSA off. WOAH!!! day and night diff w/ VSA.

I also tried some donuts but couldn't use the e-brake cause my left ankle was twisted all in all. I love VSA

The only time I've noticed VSA is in the rain at high speeds (highway driving)....haven't had a chance to try 'er in the snow. I'm a big pussy anyhow, so wouldn't be to thrilled to 'try' to see what she could do.

I have been impressed with the way VSA holds the hydroplaning to a minimum...if any.

Thinking the VSA/TCS system kick ass in these cars. They are the single worst systems i have come across yet, especially the TCS system.

I have had VSA activate once in the 8 years that I have had the car and it was because when i came to brake, the left side of the road was clear but the right side was slick. needless to say when i came to a stop, the car started to pivot on the left front wheel. VSA straightened it up before I could blnk...

bit of trivia ABS only works in 4 channel mode when VSA is active, otherwise it reverts back to 3 channel mode (2 front and 1 rear channel).

I think the TCS works well considering the limitations that it has... what do you expect for a FWD car with a nice torquey engine. Compared to what was available at the time, it's pretty good. you are talking about a system that is 13+ years old....
