I have this alarm on my CL and love it. I especiall love the remote start and the fob is really cool too. I would try and talk the seller of the alarm down a little on price. I bought it when it first was released and they were asking like 500 +install. I talked them down to 450 with free install, I also opted for the interfacing of the door locks ($50) and the trunk release function ($25). Also, the installer will need a key to stick in a box that they wire into the alarm system. I went to the Honda dealer and had one cut for $30. I know where the box is and it is hidden pretty well. The dual stage shock sensor works well, but I did have to adjust mine, more sensitive, they way it came, i could kick the car and nothign would happen. After they install take your car outside and lock the doors, set the alarm and wait like 2 minutes, then try and remote start your car. Make sure that the stock alarm does not sound. For some reason this happened with my car, but I did not notice it right away because I did not allow the stock alarm enough time to arm. This took the installer quite a while to figure out, it ended up that the CL wiring diagram that they had was incorrect and that they needed to change some wires. Over all once that was fixed it is a great alarm. In the near future I plan to add a proximity sensor as well as auto window roll down to it. If I were you I would go for it. The only other alarm I would look at would be the Compustar, sometimes you can get a deal on them and get about the same price.
Range is ok... they advertise a 1 mile range but I have found that I am lucky to get 1/4 of a mile. I do have to say that in large parking lots, or open spaces, the range is greatly increased. The best thing I have done to increase my range is replace the battery that the remote comes with. It comes with some cheap battery, I put an Energizer M3 in the fob and it works so much better. Keep in mind that the remote will not work well at a distance if there is a lot of solid walls. Also when you get the remote, there is a small plastic antenna cap. I would put a bead of superglue around the seam where the cap and the fob meet. I had the little plastic cap continually break off and that seemed to fix it. The only request that woudl have for the remote would back lighting... At night it is kind of hard to see.
I have never had any problems getting the remote to link up to the car. Just make sure that your antenna is not obstructed. I had a parking permit hanging off of my rear view mirror and it slipped in front of the antenna and my range decreased to like 30 ft., once I moved the pass my range returned to normal.
Like I said it is a great alarm and it works well. I especially like all of the different options you can add, windows, prox sensor etc...
