Positive and negative Temp numbers when pushing.....

Have any of you guys noticed that if your car is on and you push and hold both the select and reset buttons for like 10-20 seconds that the dash starts beeping and the temperature numbers flash 0, +1, +2, +3, -3, -2, -1, 0 and just keeps going until you let go. Anyknow know what this is all about????? Just wondering. I found this out when I was trying to get the Maint' Req' light to go off. The manual says turn the car off and push those buttons for 10 seconds and the light will reset but I can't seem to get mine to go away. I tried it with the car off and on and it never went away....

You are actually resetting your outside temperature gauge. To reset your maintenance light you have to hold both buttons while turning the ignition to on (not starting) for 10 seconds.

I thought I tried that too. Anyway why would I want to "reset" my outsede temp gauge????? Why would it even need to be reset. I mean it is just taking the temperature

You can adjust the offset for the OAT reading. These sensors are not very accurate and this fucntion allows you to adjust yours to read closer to the actual outside temperature.
