Question velocity stack install help

hi guys i just bought a blox 3 inch velocity stack with 6 inch inlet filter as a package deal.. for my injen cold air intake

im just having troubles installing it. is the velocity stack suppose to slide into the inside of the intake piping? it seems to be the exact same size of the cold air intake.. just wanna know how its held?

and it looks like there may be a clearance issue with the filter being too big

yea when I had to replace my injen filter i just got the same one.. to hell with it.

but for ur info.. the velocity stack is going to slide inside the filter (curved area facing the nose/top of the filter) and then u slide the velocity stack with the filter onto the piping. and voila.

you'll need a 3'' coupler to attach it to your injen pipe with 2 clamps. everything should be straight forward. the filter goes on to the velocity stack and the other end which is 3'' goes into your injen piping. i have the blox velocity stack and thats how its suppose to be.

i think i figured it out so the velocity stack doesnt slide into the intake piping you just use the coupler to hold it there against it?

and the filter is really huge im having fitment issues its pushing down about 2 inches on the bottom panel is that ok??

What is the problem you are having? Its quite a simple install. Filter goes over the velocity stack. Half the couple goes on the outlet (small) end of the velocity stack, the other half on your intake piping.

Not really. If you have to cut some of the piping off so you can put the filter higher up, or get a smaller filter.

Dont blame you. See if you can get just the velocity stack. Then take some measurements with it mounted, go to the K&N site and find out which one is closest.

for w/e it's worth... injen already has a built in velocity stack moulded inside their filter.

I was looking into the whole velocity stack thing but once i realized the injen filter had pretty much a velocity stack internally, i figured it was once mod that wasn't worth the hassle.
