is "vacuum hose" necessary for tranny flush!??

i have heard of this hose that sucks the contents of fluid and debris out of the tranny but is this necessary or will the flush involving just pouring the fluid and lettign it drain ok?? i just got my cl-s and it has exacty 60k now(had it 3 weeks) and i am due for the 60k shed maint. the owner(previous) is from manhattan so i figured the "severe"driving involving stop and go which in the owners manual if this is the case you should do the tranny flush at 60k.

so my question is is the hose necessary? or the regular way will work fine?

any help would be great!!!thanks
