VA/DC/MD CL owners - Dealers?
Hey all, I'm a prospective CL owner and I was curious which dealer you bought from, why you chose that dealer, and how you've been treated (service-wise) at the dealership. Did you get any "freebies" (free oil changes, yearly inspections, etc)?
I'd also be interested in the response away from DC Metro (ie VA Beach, DE, etc) if anyone did any long distance purchases...

Bought Criswell in annapolis, Maryland
got a fair deal $31,500 (i think) for Cl-s with navi.
they were a really pain the ass to get them to lower their price. Tischer acura quickly dropped their price and I didn't even do anything except walk to the car, while still on the lot just browsing. I never even sat down with the salesman. Criswell is very scared of tischer because they lose alot of sales to them.
Service has been ok at criswell.
Even though I have had some problems.
-One time they claimed to have washed the car and all they did was wipe off the birdshit off the window.
-They SCREW the front license plate into the bumber!
-And also they stole my personal license plate frame, and put theirs on. I did manage to get a free oil change out of that one.
But they are really friendly and call me by last name when I walk in the door.

Pohonka Acura in Northern Virginia is pretty good. They're practically selling CLs @ invoice. You can probably get a CLS + navi under $30k.

Pohanka all the way. 2nd largest acura dealer on the west coast and the best service ever. period.
BeatYaAll, honeycl, and me and some others got our cars from pohanka and just great service. Went to Radley but too pushy and didn't give me a good price.

pohanka acura at chantilly! great, respectful salepeople! service reps are very nice.....service techs are kinda iffy! they put a damn ding on my door the first time i brought my car to them.....then they wouldn't admit it! but price-wise.....purchased mine at $250 over invoice!

Thanks for the responses! I also posted the same question at a-TL and... dunno they seemed to favor Radley, here Pohanka (thus far)... I haven't been to any Acura dealer other than Pohanka, but their dealership is very pedestrian and I've seen their lot attendants fly around with their cars (hope they weren't customer cars)...
This would be my first luxury make (been all domestic previously)... how do the dealers treat y'all? What type of loaners do they give? The salesman at Pohanka mentioned they give loaners for all service >2hrs and said they currently have ~25 loaners and are expanding to ~45 loaners "soon". I mentioned how shabby (for a luxo plate) they looked compared to Lexus next door (also Pohanka) and he mentioned they are totally remodelling the place to make the place more in line with Acura/luxury...

Go to pohanka and ask for Rodney. He's the one who sold the car to me and honey cl. he is one of the best. he got promoted to finance manager from internet sales manager and car sales but go look for him and he'll point you to a good sales men. As soon as I walked in to the dealer he took me very seriously and went for a test drive and gave me the price stragiht up. No hassling or haggling. Tell him Joe w/ the white Type S told ya about him and he'll hook ya up. I refrered about 4 people to him(don't worry not getting any kind of commision) and he hooked all them up w/ real good deals.
Also he said if you buy a car at the end of teh month you'll save more money since they're eager to meet there sales quota. Very honest and nice guy. A++++++++++

STAY AWAY FROM POHANKA!! I went there with an offer that I got from Radley and they laughed. They said they couldn't possibly match the price I was quoted because "Then everyone would be driving one" and that they in the business to sell cars not go bankrupt...F Them.....Their offer was 500.00 below sticker...I then went to Radley and picked up the 3.2CL for 26,500....

I bought a Type-S with Nav at Acura West in Ellicott City,MD for $500.00 over invoice. My salesman was Chris Waters who was pretty easy to deal with...the sales manager however did try and tell me that they no longer have a 2% dealer holdback and that $500 was not enough profit...I held firm and still got it at that price

I bought mine at Criswell like AChance. I got a non-nav CLS for $31,000 final price with spoiler, mud guards, fenderwell trim and front end cover (this also includes taxes and transfer).
They do screw the damn plate in the front end, but oh well whenever in a couple years when i get the front-end repainted (paint chips) i'll have the holes fixed too.
My dealer reps name was David Long. He was super nice, but not too technically versed about the car. I did get a $1300 dollar increase on my trade at Criswell over Rosenthal, and Tischer wouldn't even appraise my car unless i was willing to buy that day. I have since had my Rosenthal call and offer me a complimentary oil change (after i told them i bought elsewhere) and their service seems like it'll be great (plus it's about and hour closer).
I'd say you could get a '01 Navi-CLS for about $31K out the door (options may be extra), at this point in the game.

I prefer Pohanka over Radley...I didn't get very good service from Radley when I tried to buy my car. I've referred several people to Pohanka and haven't heard any complaints.

Seems to be Radley and Pohanka are the big ones, with more of you leaning towards Pohanka.
I live close to Pohanka and am going in tomorrow to get a CL-S, no Navi, possible spoiler. Many of you quote an out-the-door price. How much do taxes/title/tags/etc. run in this area. If I subtract that from the numbers you provide, I should reach a good estimate of the purchase price, right?

I live close to Pohanka and am going in tomorrow to get a CL-S, no Navi, possible spoiler. Many of you quote an out-the-door price. How much do taxes/title/tags/etc. run in this area. If I subtract that from the numbers you provide, I should reach a good estimate of the purchase price, right?

I know pohanka has cl-P no navi for a little over 26k. but if your going to get the type S please, please get the NAVI. you will not regret its worth the 2000 and probably more IMO. Oh and ask for rodney and tell him your from the acura-cl fourm and we refrred you there. he'll hook ya up.

I think I saw the price for 26.4 or 26.5 for a cl-P in weekend washington post. from pohanka. The reason is everyone around here buys the type S and few , very few buy the cl-p so there over stocked.

Seems to be Radley and Pohanka are the big ones, with more of you leaning towards Pohanka.

Dealers are most willing to make deals in the winter months
- If you bought before
If you mention you purchased a car there before they may be more willing to cut a deal
- Who your salesman is
The salesman who sold me mine asked the floor manager who turned my offer down asked me to wait a day then asked the GM who approved the offer

Well back to radley I went to radley to get my lights adjusted after springs and when I brought it in they said it would be no charge then half way through they find me and charge me 20 bucks. WTF. Oh and same thing happen to me too. The service tech lost my keys and I was sitting there for 15 min while there looking for my keys. And the funny thing is they aske what My keys looked like too. And I had to tell them "uh , its an acura key w/ the fob"

yeah, we laid off 20%, but I'm lucky i'm in paris being billable or else i would've been axed too. Yo, I met one of ur boyz from OneSoft, named Amit (old lexus LS), little short indian dude. He was visiting a fellow co-worker out here.
Anyways, did u pay Radley the $20? i mean its not much, but if they told u it would be free, then you shouldn't have paid. I'm telling you man, I don't know whats up with Radley. I've heard 2 extreme stories, they're either really good or just plain horrible. IMO, they are very suspect and just plain idiots. I really should've went to Pohanka, I bought my car the same time as you and I paid $33,6k. w/o the car cover, or bra. I got swanked. shiiiiiiiiiiit!!!!!

I went into Pohanka yesterday and walked out with a Silver CL-S. The process was suprisingly painless (I was ready to dig trenches but never had to).
I got the baby for under 29K out the door. Suh-weet!
NovaWhite: Rodney has now moved into Finance -- guess he got promoted. Interestingly enough, he had no idea this web site existed, though he did say he remembered you. I guess no one has gone in to see him as a referral.
The guy I dealt with was cool, and took me seriously, even though he tried to pull a few tricks on me. Research done on this board, and edmunds.com (as well as other sites) had me well prepared.
