On the way home tonight, it was around 7PM so the highway was kinda empty. What I mean is that you had breaks that you could hit 80 or 90mph and then you had to slow down. There was a Mustang next to me once I got on the highway (1 exhaust pipe, not 2)...before that it was on-ramps and small roads. I look over and there are two guys in the car (=trouble), I can see that he has the LOUD decal on the side saying Mustang which I beleieve means V6 (?)...they want to look like a BOSS Mustang since the BOSS is labeled on the bottom of the door in a real BOSS 'stang. I look over at the guy and he tosses me the finger (wrong idea) and hits it....I drop to d3 (sportshift) and walk past him. Literally WALK past him. I was a bit suprised. I slowed down to flip HIM off but when I slowed down he just looked away and I waved.

Perhaps I should thank the headers and intake?

That is what I meant...I downshifted to 3rd gear. I didn't literally put the car in "D3". Man did the car roar when I did that...ssooooooo nice.

The V6 mustang is also only 16 grand. Maybe the extra 15,000 price difference could make that V6 a little bit faster?

I'm not making excuses for why the V6 stang lost. I just don't consider it a kill... All I was saying was don't compare old technology to new tech. Compare apples to apples...

It would be like me posting about beating a 95 Civic w/ CAI and a fart can exhaust and four people in the car. It's a no brainer that you beat them. Stock V6 Mustangs are DOGS. Don't brag about killing them.

Since it seems that you guys care about beating mustangs so much, gt rid of the term 'carlength'. It will now be know as a 'Mustangth'. "I killed that CL-S by 12 mustangths"...

The CLS is actually a 3.2 SOHC V6. I think its pretty impressive that the 3.2 SOHC V6 has to look at V8s for competition because besides Nissan's V6 and BMW's I6 there isn't too much competition out there in the NA 6 cyclinder category.

I wouldn't brag about a v6 mustang kill either because they are slow (not taking a shot at ford) even 330rwhp said it himself that they are slow.

I guess part of my story was missed by some of you. The guy flipped ME off initially and tried to race ME. I am not saying that I started the whole mess or that I cruise the highways around Boston looking for easy kills. I totally respect Mustangs. My former roomate had a late 90's GT (1998 maybe?) that was a 12.9sec car. What I get a kick out of is the people that buy the V6 and think it can still take on anything. As the thread title said, I took him to school. I bet there are a lot more V6 Mustang drivers out there that look at a CL-S and have no idea that the Acura is faster...just because they flat out don't KNOW. I felt at that moment that I needed to teach him! The same goes for a lot of drivers on the road that think they drive a hot sh!t car that can beat anyone. There are times that I bite off more than I can chew in a race that I am sure the other driver is rolling HIS eyes wondering what I was thinking! You win some, you lose some.

Didn't mean to offend any of our 5.0L friends or anyone with a V6 Mustang for that matter. We all love our cars.

That's very true around here as well. Honestly, I think the V6s shouldn't be called Mustangs. They give us a bad name. I've heard so many ricers around here spout off how they killed a Cobra, then later find out it was a 6 w/ Cobra emblems...

I still own a 1998 F-150 (gotta pull the quads and sleds!) with the 4.6 (dog, in that truck) but, its got 60k on the clock and all that happened besides routine maintenance, 2 brake jobs, pads at 25k rotors and pads at 52k...that is my only gripe on the truck...other than that...all trouble free...but it does rattle...of course, at speed, the BFG KO's drown it so...

I hate having to drive a V6 Mustang, but it's better than no Mustang. And yeah, they are SLOOOWWW.... as long as I can get up to speed (I never race it, obviously) and go as fast as I want it to, I'm happy... another thing I hate about it is that it's an AUTOMATIC. I'm wanting to get a V6 5-speed for a first car, hardly likely it'll happen (insurance and cost of the car). Even though they're slow, I'd either mod it or stick a better V6 in it eventually and mod it since there are specific races that are V6 only... just wanna see what I can get...

DYK The Ford Probe was almost the next stang? Then the project leader got lots of 'dear asshole' letters and they made it into its own model line (R&T has many wonderful facts )

This is true, but it's pretty undecided whether it was "almost the next mustang" or just one of many ideas from which the SN-95 (1994) platform was the final choice.

I'd have never bought a WWD Stang, that's for sure.
