V1 suction cups fallin!

I just got my V1 last week, and I put in in the middle of my dash with the suction cups! The only problem is that whenever i put on my sunshade when i park, the slightest touch on the radar makes it fall off! Any solutions to this, other that hard-wiring it?

Not sure how hardwiring it is going to solve your problem...

See if cleaning the glass helps. And it wouldn't hurt to clean the suctions cups too... A little soap and water will do the trick.

Well hard wiring is not going to do anything for you ... you'll still have to use the suction cups. I dont know how to solve this besides persistance. It happens to me too and you just gotta lick it and stick it and really press to make sure there is no air in the cups. Anybody else have any good ideas?

Mine was always falling when it got "hot". I got tired of it and took off the suction cups and "super glued" the bracket to the windshield.

It used to fall a lot! and ding my NAV frame twice. Now, I learned to keep the suctions tight on the windshield and slide-in slide-out the V1... no more lose suctions.

Hope this helps.

I've had mine on since the day I bought it in March and it has never fallen off. Of course, it had to be moved to the new replacement windshield. I've been using the same suction cups since 94 in my SHO. The most I remember having to do is to give them a lick.

Try cleaning the suction cups with alcohol.

Yeah, it's a real pain in the butt. The V1 is just a little heavy for the cups. I never had this problem with my passport.

The only solution I've found is to be sure the inside of the windshield is REAL clean and wash the cups once a week or so. I just use dishwash liquid and water.

The one thing that really pisses me off, is I can't seem to undo the V1 from the suction cup holder. I doesn't slide out at all... I have to get out a screwdriver to pry the holder off the unit. It slides just fine, but it won't slide out completely...

Oh well...
