Talking Update! on SS problems

So I recently had my timing belt exchanged with the hydrolic tensioner, water pump and belts. I talked to the mechanic that worked on my car and he said that since these routine maintenance things needed to be replaced, the car before the work was done was sensing that trouble was coming so the transmission wouldn't let me shift when I wanted to and the SS shift light would turn off. The tensioner was leaking fluid so that HAD to be replaced or else the engine would have gone.

Funny, I noticed that some cars are smarter than the owners sometimes...LoL...

Also, found out what the SRS light was on for. Apparantly the sensor for the driver seat belt was failing and I had that replaced at the dealership. All the work done for the engine was completed at a local family owned Honda/Acura shop. Now, she runs so much better.

No worries... It was for just 02's and 03's... you have an 01, so it wasn't covered anyways...

Yes I did. The cool thing about the shop I went to, they didn't charge extra for the tensioner to be installed. The belts were apart of the job. I was only charged 770 dollar for the entire job. The 105K service is 547.00 plus tax. Work is included with price. The tensioner was 138.00, and the computer hook up was about 35.00. I didn't need the spark plugs switched out yet because the dealer installed new ones before I bought the car. So they still have 20,000 miles left.

I'm all caught up with service junk for a while!
