UPDATE -- new tranny at 107,000
I got good news from Acura. They agreed to replace my tranny at 107,000 for free. This is my first transmission for my 2001 CL-type S.
It took some complaining, but not much. The problem is that the dealership is so backed up with tranny repairs (still!) that it will take 2 weeks to get to mine done. I hope I don't have a complete failure while I wait.

Wow that's cool. When i had my automatic and spoke with Acura on the phone about a situation like yours they indicated that as long as I showed diligence in maintanence they would "take care" of the issue.
Did you say two weeks!!? I think mine is gone or will be soon because I can hear a whistling sound (kinda like a low whine) and the gears are holding longer under normal acceleration as well as hesitating for a split second. When it finally shifts its a hard shift.
