Up to 100,000 miles no tuneup needed?
Hey guys, on our sticker for the car is says that the car can go 100k on it w/o gettin a schedule tune up. But when i went to Acura 4 some warranty work, they told me that I needed the 30k done soon, and that i was gona cost me like $400. Whats the deal here?

I drove it for the first 75K, by driving 180 miles round trip per day ! Then I bought the CLS and drove it up to 45K and now work from home full time with both cars happy in the garage.
My Accord has been maintained "by the book" by the same dealership I bought it from. It is in FLAWLESS condition and I'll have it for a long time. Did I mention, they are both paid in full ?
One happy family !
BTW: Timing belt change/water pump: $825.00
90K service: 325.00
New front brakes: 180.00, then I bring my CLS to them (Honda) for my 45K and saved 130 dollars by NOT going to my Acura dealership !
I AM FOOKING DONE WITH THESE CARS FOR NOW !

We were just chating on the TL.COM about the Timing Belt & Water Pump cost. Its reccomended that you replace the water pump at the same time as the belt @105,000 The labor cost is the same so you only are paying for the water pump not the labor for it.
They say replace platinum plugs @105,000 this would be considerd a Tune- Up

T-belts are recommended at 105 vs. 60? Don't recall what it says in maintenance schedule... $825 seems like alot for labor though. Will be doin that myself when it comes time
But yeah, platinum plugs supposedly last 100k. Said that on my MR2 too, but I've changed them twice already with 133k on the clock...

Yup, it's not a timing chain like the new generation of Honda/Acura. Oh and.... add about $300 for a valve adjustment on the V6.
Doing timing belt yourself?!? That's too tough of a job without a lift since you'll need to get to the crank pulley. Not exactly the job to do with jackstands and a hydraulic jack. Also you'll need to flush the radiator when you do the water pump. Give yourself a good 1 or 2 full days if you don't mess up.
