Unreal carjack this morning

so it's 5:45 this morning, and i'm walking to the train station as usual...and i see a current gen. Maxima jacked up missing 2 wheels...i'm like hmmmmmmmmm, lemme check the other side...the other 2 wheels are missing...so now i'm like o shit, right??...so i look closer to see the jackstands and how the car was propped up...eggcrates!!!!!! the goddamn car was jacked up using eggcrates!!!!!!!!

just goes to show when a-holes want something of yers, they'll do whatever it takes to get it

so in the past few weeks, i've witnessed center hubs missing on luxo/sports cars and now wheel strippings...now i'm starting to get a lil

Damn bro, when I read the title of this thread I was afraid to read your post. It's unfortunate that the Maxima had its wheels stolen, but I'm glad you weren't carjacked!

Sounds like back home.

I was used to see cars with no wheels sitting on the road just with rotors/drums. Insurance was cheap though, but what a pain in the ass.

One day a high voltage alarm system will be in the market, and send stealers 40,000 volts so they would never touch the car again.

All you need is 60-70 volts to kill a person. Shit they said they only used 10,000 in the jurassic park movie for the fence around the t-rex. For that reason they will never make a car battery with more than 60 volts.

It's not the volts, it's the amps that kill you. Stun guns work at thousands of volts but very little current (amps). 10milliamps across your heart will do it, or about 60-70ma across your body.

Volts alone won't cut it.

I used to see this at least once a week where I grew up. Glad to hear you weren't carjacked though. I was for you.

$2,000 stolen in tires and wheels, just because someone was too cheap to invest $40 in wheel locks. He's lucky he still has the car. This is another good reason to spend the dead presidents for a navi, because by default, it comes with GPS (global positioning system).

If your car is ever stolen, just call the cops and give them your pin number. Chances are better than 90% you will get your car back. In fact, there is at least one documented case where the cops tracking a stolen navi lead to a car thief ring bust.

Plus, my insurance went down $50, 5% with the navi.

I don't think that is quite right. Our navi systems are one way receive only. GPS can be used for tracking purposes (such as new generation cell phones with GPS functionality for Enhanced 911) but the device has to have a way to transmit the GPS data back to something (police, cell tower, etc...) As far as I know our CL navigation does not have this funtionality.

People need to stop using the term "carjack" for simple thievery and such. Carjacking is a very serious crime and sometimes serious injury, trauma, or death to the victim. Thievery is loss of property. Don't use the term "carjacking" lightly because you're going to raise emotions out of people when you use that term. It's in a way like rape.

Well it is a car, and it has been jacked, in some way, shape, or form. I hear ya though.
