Bored with Acura styling after 15 years

Seeing the new TL and the TSX made me realize how Acura is not gonna change their conservative styling approach.
I've been an Acura buyer for 15 years, but I can not get excited about the styling of my CLS, way too generic, like an Accord. I only buy coupes and nothing besides the NSX and my 2 Legend Coupes has had any interesting style from Hacura. IMO.
I hate the dealer, they have ruined the Acura experience for me too.
I guess I'm too picky and superficial. I'm already wanting to trade, but there is not much out there as good a value or as reliable and fun. I like the CLS but it's looks and family car size is starting to bother me more and more. I thought trying to get a sexier color than the white would help but I'm not sure it's worth it.
Of what is out there the bmw330ci is my favorite style, but we know the drawbacks there, and I assume the dealers are worse than Acura.
I wish Lexus made a coupe I could afford or like, the SC430 is a little too stodgy and not a timely design like the first SCs were. I might look at the first SC coupes again.
Just needed to vent. Hope I get over it, the used car sales market is a giveaway.

Quit whining and bitching and go buy something else then , like the infiniti.

Not to hate by any means, you just have these posts every so often. So if youre not happy with the cars looks or your dealer experience, then go find something you like and make happy posts.

Well if the TL and TSX are "boring and conservative" to you, maybe you should look into an FX moon vehicle or a new Caddy, as those are about the only things you might find remotely non-conservative.

And Benz service out-classes every other make but of course Benzes break down more than Lexus do so I guess cut your losses there and accept Lexus' fine service... although they have positively the most boring and conservative styling just like Toyota.

You should let your voice be heard by Acura and the franchise that's given you the under-par service. Write a letter so they know they're potentially losing a long time customer. Hopefully they'll care.

From your posts, I can tell that you are an Acura fan who feels Acura/Honda is not supporting those loyal to the brand. I understand what your saying, but I still like my CL-S.

Even after 1 1/2 years of driving it, I still think this is a great car. It has comfort; it has power; it has speed; it's fun to drive. I realize it's styling is considered boring by many of the critics, but it does fine by me.

Yeah, but the ENTIRE MB line-up is kick-ass... hell, even the new C320 w/ the optional 17's and sport package and 6-spd is kick-ass for the money ...

Well I was venting and I'm sure it's mostly a personal problem. I'm picky I know. I can bitch, sorelick23, and I can expect more (I guess- too much) from Honda and Acura and I've spent over $80,000 on a CLS, 2 Legend Coupes and one Prelude. I've been a loyal buyer (2 cars bought, 2 cars traded in) at this 'dealer' and they treat me like a rube.
I'm bitching Now cause they "no longer give loaners" for a RECALL for their product's OWN design mistake. I cancelled my appt. Sure I can go raise hell, see the general mgr, why should I have to do that, they are unprofessional, they got my $$$ already.
This dealer has had a 20 year monopoly in this town.
I'm going to the new dealer opening here in a month. Hopefully that will fix my bitching about the dealer anyway.

Then your major problem is with the dealer not acura.

And as you well know, acura does not own their dealerships, but you can bitch to them about said dealerships. As Slimey said write them a letter. Try the new dealer when they open. It sucks, but that acura doesnt have higher service standards, I agree, most of us do.

And as sad as it is to say, your 80 grand probably doesnt mean shit to them. The cold shitty reality of corporate business. Which again if they appreciate you, then go somewhere else.

Buyers remorse is your problem. If you find acura has gone bland and boring, then you shouldnt have bought a car you regret so much. You've bitched about it since day one.

Now I mentioned in my first post, that I wasnt meaning to hate on you, and I'm still not. But its so nice to see you, an older more mature member of the board, resort to infantile name calling. I mean wow man.

You poorly edited my quote - making it look like I said Benzes have boring styling. What I said is Lexus does. Ugh. Learn how to quote, bro. =p

I will prefer a conservative car rather than a girly car (SC430?)

sarlacc23, I get what you're saying, sorry I got defensive.
I traded in my 95 Legend mainly because I wanted a new, warrantied Acura and no repair issues. If there was another brand overall as good as the CLS in my price range I probably would have bought it by now and quit bitching about the CL styling and dealer, but I guess there isn't anything that meets my demands much better.

A week doesn't go by that somebody doesn't compliment my CL. This usually happens at nearby tennis courts and a golf course. These more "mature" folks seem to like the conservative but classy lines especially when the black is nice and shiny.

That's great, black looks very good on most cars. I got the same reaction with my Legend Coupes, many offers to buy it at gas stations etc. Never had many comments on my CLS tho.

I too was bored with my CL-S, so I traded it for an S2000. I am once again having fun! When I need more room, I drive my wife's TL-S.

Buy him a beer. The SC 430 just ain't me. Man, I would love a Is or GS coupe. Hopefully in the future. I loved my SC 400, perfect car. As u, a SC 300 swap is tempting.
