Unjamming CD changer by disconnecting battery
How much success is there with this method? Does one disconnect the battery for 10 minutes then reconnect it and quickly enter the radio code and hit 'CD' then 'eject' and hope for the best?
I had the same problem. the cd's will not come out or go in, right? Does it say error and then switch over to the radio? Mine did that and i had to take it back to acura... they put me in a rentel for 4 weeks. They sent it out and it was like $500 to fix and i had to pay $20 of it.

Thanks I had done some searching and the battery disconnect was suggested. One person said the CD player couldn't read the disc and just gave the error message. My disc 2 just stopped ejecting but everything else worked fine then the whole thing stopped working.
When I had my changer, I just pressed the eject button like crazy until it came out, or cycle through two different CD's (for example, keep hitting the #3 and then #4 buttons) until the one you want loads and finally pops out. The stock CD changer is azz
this happened to me with some burnt cd's, they just wont come out and it gives me an error code...i too pressed eject a million times and then gave it one swift punch to the side and it ejected hahaa, worked everytime

i have this problem, but it will fix itself but takes a while and a lot of patience!! CL-Future has the right idea.
it started when there was the "ER-E1..." error and "Chec" error. i had no CD player for like 2 weeks, then it came on suddenly one day.
besides that miracle, i learned you have to fool around with the buttons and dont give up! it take some time tho...heres 2 methods:
for example when the radio unit is totally off, push "CD" and if the error message comes up BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE, do not wait for it to blink, just turn off the power of the whole radio unit. keep doing this until you get the moment that when you push "CD" the # of your CD comes up FIRST and starts playing.
second, if you push "CD" and the number comes up first AND THEN the error message, wait for the error message to blink 3x or so and quickly push a CD # before it turns off or goes to the radio. a couple times of this and the CD player will start playing.
you'll know if these methods are successful on your car if you listen closely and you hear the usual sound the changer makes when turning to another CD. when the sound starts being heard, probably one more time of method 1 or 2 will start playing music.
*i drive 52 miles a day to go to school, and having no CD's is not an option for me so dont think i sat in my driveway for hours before i figured this out. lol. i drive alot!

I unplugged the battery then plugged it back in and the radio started flashing 'error' but I got all the CDs to eject. Now I just need to find my code again!
