Ummm starting to think the Polarg M's aren't worth it..

OK,
I was fixing to replace the burnt out Polarg I just recieved and I took a look at the bulb and said 'wholly shit !!!!' Excuse the language, but when I looked at the bulb it look like it had swollen up to twice it's previous size. I'm pretty anal about not touching the bulb, and i'm sure I was careful but the bulb is pretty swollen up Now how the hell am I supposed to get that shit out?? I know i'm going to haveto bust the bulb (which will involve me taking the lamp out), but i'm considering wether or not the Polarg should go back in. Is the matching of the HID to the fogs that important to me ???

Sorry just had to vent..

Its probably a defective bulb or you got oil on it... try touching the stock halogen bulbs on another car with oil from your fingers...

Well I thought I was immune to it, and I understand what happens if you get oil on the bulb.

One of the questions that I haven't seen being brought up yet with the M6 is; When you install your bulb no matter what, you still have to wedge it into the housing (therefore it comes into contact with the plastic housing). Of course the other option is to make the hole bigger in the housing, but then you'll probably run into problems with water getting into the housing.

Don't get me wrong, if you don't have problems then that's cool. I'm just tossing my .02$ in so everyone knows what might happen (BTW I said screw it and installed the Polarg's I just purchased from Tim. I guess if I have further problems i'll;

A) Either replace the housing.

B) Get some real fogs and customize something that will fit there.

try the piaas 19224's, they are slightly smaller and slip into the hole easier.

NO YOU SICKOS, NOT THAT HOLE!

mrdeeno,
Sweet i'll give them a shot next time. I guess the bulbs are rated at the same wattage as the Polarg's. How did you take the blue tint off of em'??

Woah dude are those some rods I see in the background of the PIAA pic?? I think I see a couple of deep water rigs back there

oh, i forgot to list my "hydroplane" mods. I have a couple pontoons on the 4 sides of the car that inflate when i hit a switch, and a propellor extends from the back bottom.

the piaas are a little mroe expensive than the polargs.

i used a rotary tool with the soft metal brush to get the paint off. it did a pretty good job, didn't scratch the glass at all.

just watch your hands...the paint comes off like a fine powder and just coats your hands.

Good thing you clarified that or Amir might have spent 11 hours sticking a bulb up his butt.

Could you do a quick check to see if you can pull out the bulbs tho? That's the point..... that you won't be able to remove them once they burn out.
