Uh... which plug is the transmission fluid one?? Help!

Ok - so I've got my car up on stands right now (I'm a night owl!) and I can't figure out which plug is the transmission drain! I know it's not the one next to the filter (the engine oil plug) but I can't seem to find a plug that looks like the transmission drain! Every other car I've drained the transmission fluid on (all GM cars) had a pan that was pretty obviously the ATF pan.

Thanks in advance!

According to the HELM, looks like it on the driver side ... it's on the side and you should remove it by the ratchet (without a socket). Hope it helps.

Now another problem.. the @#$%#$ ATF fill bolt won't come off. I can't get enough torque on the damn thing to get it off! Do the damn apes in Ohio that build these ALWAYS have to put 1000 lbs of torque on every bolt??? Sheesh!

If I can't get this thing off, I'm going to have to fill it by the dip stick hole.

Damn Filler Plug

autoxCLS,

Did you finally get your transmisison filler plug removed? I've now got 30K miles and went to change out the fluid last night and there was no way in hell I was going to get the bolt loose!

to get the filler bolt loose, put a few extensions on a torque wrench so that it clears the entire engine bay (i had to use 3 extensions). then youll be able to give it enough torque to snap it loose

I dunno what made me think of this, but I remember an old post of when a couple of guys were calling it a click-ly thing, and went to an autopart store to look for it.

What interval do we need to change trans-oil, every 15k??
