Uh oh, had a weird problem this morning...any ideas?
I was on my way to work in traffic, and when I hit a hill going up, I was actually slowing down while going up the hill due to traffic, but anyways, my car started to cough, and I was giving it gas, no go, so I put the pedal down about 1/2 way, and it reved a little then shifted down to the next lowered gear, and was fine. I have no clue what happened but to what I could tell it acted like when I had a 5spd and left it in 5th going 20mph and almost killing the car without downshifting. This was the 1st time it has done this. Anyone else experience this? The rest of the way to work it was okay.

Sounds normal to me... Not 100% sure though.

Did you notice if the revs on the engine were going up and down or was this with the transmission?
I have noticed a quiver or shudder that i think is coming from the transmission when I'm going slow up a hill, at the bottom of the gear range rpm.
and just like you, if i give it some more gas, it downshifts and is fine.

The reason I suggested it was the 'grade logic' kicking in was when you mentioned you were slowing down and going up a hill. Were you in SS or D5?
My vote is still on the grade logic...
