Ugh... now what.

Earlier in the week the engine light came on but i had no time to do anything about it. So its now a few days later and when i went to drive to work this morning i noticed that my AC/FAN and any of the environment controls dont want to work. AC wont start at all... even if i set it for defrost. My normal fan wont even work as well. Id turn the fan full blast but nothing comes out.

Any thoughts?

No takers huh...
Another thing is that it sometimes comes on when it wants to. I mean, on my way home from work today it decided to work as turned the key, BUT, when i stopped for gas on my way home it didnt work after i restarted my car. Sheesh... The AC unit doesnt even come on as i dont hear it kick in. So i dont know if thats related to the fan not working.

Such a weird thing, you think if the AC unit went that at least the interior fan would still keep working. Do you guys think that its the actual ac unit or something else?

I'd say the blower motor relay. It should be under the hood.

Well the relay is like $10 & 1 minute of time, Just unplug it from the under hood fuse box & insert the new one.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but just to give anyone else help in the future and for inquiring minds. The problem was the "transistor Assymbly" that was replaced which lead to the blower transistor being blown so it too was replaced. Dont know if i got ripped off or not, but the job was done for just over $200cdn.

Thank you and youre welcome... Glad to help out as any info is good info!
The total price was $260 after taxes, damn taxes. Acura said that the job could have been worse if the wires and such burnt but thankfully that didnt happen to me. Another Acura was recently in for the same thing but he unfortunately had to replace all of that, but I dont have the $$$$ for that job.

A blower motor resistor?

Is that what went out?

I replaced that on many cars. Not hard at all, & was under $50.

If they replaced the assembly also. They likely didn't need to do that & changed it anyway to make more $.

Part was $80 labor is about $100hr and then diag and tax. Out of the whole thing the diag i would assume is the rip off, $56 bucks for that. For me, i do not have the time to sit around and play with things, id rather take it in and have it done. Bring it in 8am and have it by 3.

I just dont trust myself with this type of stuff.

Dude thats the most fun, is taking stuff apart and trying to get it back together in a working order lol. When I was installing my underdrive pullys I was ready to pull my hair out, but after a few AZ trips, I was good to go
I think fuzzy or another mod had a really good post on the pullys that saved me from blowing up my car.
