Question TypeSers - Anyone Modified Their TCS Control Valve

TypeSers -

Has anyone modified the TCS control valve? This is the unit that closes the butterfly when you hit the rev-limiter.

My reason for asking is that I've been tweaking my ram-air set up and have encountered an unexpected problem. When launching in first gear - and especially when punching it at 20mph in 1st gear - at around 6k rpm the air intake velocity is so extreme that it's sucking the butterfly closed. I know it doesn't sound possible, but I have tested it several different ways and when I 'detune' the ram-air (reducing the air flow) the problem goes away.

Anyway, I'm thinking about removing the butterfly and testing it that way, but was wondering if anyone had done this and are there any downsides. Besides the rev-limiter not functioning.

Remove the butterflies and you'll lose torque. Not sure I'd go messing with something that prevents over-revving even if the engine does have a fuel cutoff to help prevent it (not sure if our cars do or not).

he's not talking about the IMRC he's talking aabout the VSA ... yes i had it completely removed and signal clamped easy wway is to take it out of the line plugged in but not part of the loop make an extension to your cold AIR INTAKE as if you were a 6mt

6spds never had VSA. They had a limited slip differential instead.
