type s sloppy paint quality?

i am pretty pissed about the car paint quality, there are already chips and scratches on my almost 2 month old type s. most of them are really thin and located on the bumper... i don't remember running into any cars when I park...

anyway, went out bought those long rubber strip and stuck them on four corners of my car, yeah, looks a bit weird at first, but better than getting more chips...

anyone knows a good way to get rid of/hide those chips and scrapes?

I don't agree. I'm not sure what you are talking about (rubber strip), but I've never been a fan of covering something up to protect it if it means never seeing what you are protecting. Just like a bra on the front of the car. I can't understand the point. Paint chips suck, but every car is going to get them. If you aren't ever going to see it because you have covered it up with something, why are you protecting it? For resale value??? I'm not worried about resale value with a new car. Maybe I'm just wierd.

I have to agree that the paint on the Acuras sucks. I had chips on mine like a week after i bought it new. Now i have a ton of chips and keep a bra on during lovebug season just cause they eat the paint off the car but the front still looks like crap. I read some where that acura/honda doesnt put on as many coats or bake the paint as much in order to be environmentaly friendly. Has anyone else heard this?
I dont think the leather holds up very well either. I really take care of it but its cracked alot yet my moms infinity's leather looks brand new and it never really gets cleaned, let alone conditioned.

I have to ask. What the heck is a lovebug and does it really eat cars or is this some slang that a 30+ guy from Boston wouldn't get?

I am from Louisiana and there is such a bug called Love bugs, because they fly around making love and they are seasonal, can't remember what time during the year, but they can f*ck up the front of a car BIG TIME ! They are black with a yellow spot and come in the millions for about one month and do major damage to cars not cleaned immediately. One of many reasons I moved to California !

Hey Mike i didnt believe that these friggen bugs actually did anything when i moved here in Feb. from NJ, but they severely screw up your car and their dead bodies stink up your garage. Its amazing how many die on your car. Your lucky you dont have them

yeah, bug problems are everywhere... not only bugs, little flying rocks/sands that get picked up by moving car will destroy the paint job instantly... my house mate told me that they sell a thin plastic/membrane sort of thing that cover your hood/bumper/whatever parts you want, to deflect bugs/rocks, and it is totally invisible... and i was told that it costs $600 just to do the front body including hood and bumper, dammmmmn!!!

Get some touchup paint from your dealer. The paint code should be on the inside of the drivers side door. Don't use the brush as an applicator as its too messy. Use a toothpick or something similar and slowly build up the paint.

Anyone know what the factory paint application of the new Acuras are? I remember when it used to be 4 coats of color, then 4 coats of clear for the older Acuras. Is it still the same, or has it changed?

Cars like the Acura 3.5RL and the Acura MDX have a 5 coat 4 bake painting process, the Lowly Acura Integra has a 3-coat 3-bake painting process while the Acura 3.2CL/TL/CL-s have a 2 coat 1 bake painting process. With an additional coating on lower levels of the car. Being environmentally friendly ? NOPE ! Cutting costs ? YUP !!!

Those "Love Bugs" as they are called, are very bad on the paint of your car. They have a enzyme in their blood that will literally pit your paint if left on the vehicle too long. Thank god they are seasonal.
