I'm ditching my CL after this year.

Woa going to the dealer to get it done, not what I had in mind. Find a couple of speed shops, they may intertain the idea of doing a tranny swap on a '01.

The goal would be below $5K, but ideally, I would love to only pay $3.5K. The only way that I think I could reach that low of a cost would be to purchase as much as I can from a junk yard.

I've owned and modified three turbo vehicles and two SC equipped so I do love PV = nRT: the Ideal Gas Law.

yeah, gotta love it. So what were your other SC'd cars and turbo vehicles?

Two DSMs (a Talon TSI AWD and an Eclipse GS-T) and a Typhoon. I had the GS-T and the Typhoon at the same time racing my wife occasionally. Needless to say, the Typhoon would allow me to take her off the line easily, turbo AWD is nice as I am sure you would agree.

The SC'd vehicles, a GTP and the now CL-S6SC.

I think you'll have a tough time getting it all done for $5k. I think $8k may even be a low price. Below is a list of parts you'd need as quoted from Jens in an earlier topic about this. Keep in mind you'll then need to include labor costs as he pointed out in the end....

PLUS:
Money to install all of this
Money to make changes to the wiring harness as needed
Time and money to troubleshoot
Oh and the car is not technically not street legal
