Turbo CL-S vs. Porsche 911 TT
Well, this is the race I always wanted... but unfortunateley I wasn't necessarily prepared. Anyways, here's how it went.
I was going south on the 405 in nasty traffic & 80C temps. I spotted a 911TT with wheels and exhaust (silver color). He was restless so I knew he was upto it. Anyways, we were both going West on the 10 (towards the beach... which clears up) and so he gunned it at the off-ramp and I followed. There was a car in front, so we were both behind and when the lane cleared, he jumped on it - saw the black smoke from his exhaust given the sudden flooring of the throttle. Anyways, I was about 1-car behind when he floored it and I floored it as well going 40mph. My wheels started spinning, so he gained a car in 2nd. In 3rd I was a dead-even 2 car lengths behind and in 4th I started catching up and regained the 1-car that I lost. He then let-off and rolled his window down and said... 'Damn, that's fast!'. I didn't even reply, just asked him what mods he had and if he was an X50 model... both of which he replied... "Exhaust" and "Yes".
I was ecstatic... too bad it was hot and I wasn't prepared. I knew the IC wasn't being effective given the heat and bad traffic.
Ah well... I'll soon be able to smoke him

Considering how close we live, I am ashamed that I haven't yet paid homage to that monster CL of yours. I can't believe that you _gained_ on a 911 TT... that's a beautiful thing man.
"Way to go" just doesn't cut it in this situation.

good stuff allmotor. you really should have about 380 to the wheels at this point, and the 911 seems to be close to your car in terms of power. i never thought of that though, have you come to a resolution for the fuel spike? the new tires should help you alot now compared to the bald stockers before. nothing but spin spin spin unless in 3rd on the hwy!

Way to go...
It does make sense though as you are surely putting more to the ground and weigh less. I suspect that gearing may also be in our favor.

I look forward to any sorry that begins with or contains Turbo CLS in the title....this did not disappoint! Man is that car sweet (actually both the TC CLS6 and a 911TT)! How much hp do the 911TTs have again? for some reason I always thought 450 crank.

the X50's have 450, but in reality it's more as the X50 motor is the same as the GT2 motor which has 472 I believe, and they say that's underrated

most of them are dynoing at just a tad under 400. The lowest i've seen to date is around mid 370's

yea, the x50's. I have a stock dyno saved at home, i'll post it up later. The engines are underated. As I stated the X50 gives you the GT2 motor which is rated at a little over 470 and those things are putting down 400+ on the dyno.

I just ordered a 750cc injector and the injector-holder should be arriving next week. I'll bump it up to 9psi with this - I should be able to get 7.5-8psi into the motor given the inherent losses.
Although I don't know about our crappy 91-octane fuel!

About the octane, you can always retard timing little.

Just one 750cc... I'll still use the FMU upto 5psi - might have to swap out the spring though as I don't want 90psi fuel pressures! I'll put it on the intake pipe near the TB.
1x750cc should suffice at 70psi, I am pretty certain. I'll set the E-manage to open the secondary only after 5-6psi, so that I don't get puddling in the intake or anything wierd like that.

What are you expecting now trap wise? I know FWD cars have it tough on street tires. SPIN SPIN..
Traps give you a accurate idea of power.

I don't know - but I'll be extremely happy with ~115 - anything to hang with the new breed of AMG cars from MBZ and of course the dreaded new M5! I am boosting 5.5-6.0psi right now, and hopefully will up it to 7.5-8psi shortly.

A close friend of mine has a RSX Type S with a cybernation turbo kit. Stock block. 9psi with full 3 inch exhaust (no cats) into a apexi n1 turbo muffler. I tuned his car few weeks ago using the SAFC II on a dyno and we made a impressive 307whp and 224wtq. A/F was SAFE at 11.7 too.
For a little car his car flies now.
For my own car I am hoping mid 10s at 130+.
Need a few things first so I can drive her HARD, mainly a NICE CLUTCH to hold the tq!
