Turbo CL-S in a video

I finally made this video over the weekend. The videos were taken while blueCLS6 was up visiting over a week ago. Sorry the audio and video are a little fuzzy, I had to really compress the file down to fit it on this site. If you saw the little trailer I made, this video shows the three cars in that which include the turbo CL.

https://home.comcast.net/~jubatus7/ForcedInduction1.wmv

Let me know if you have any problems watching this video. Oh, if you can, please don't stream the video because of bandwidth problems.

edit: I apologize, I typed the url incorrectly. I'm a dope!!

We waited all this time for the video after that trailer and the CL-S didn't even get a clean run in ...

You know you could probably get a high quality video out if you cut out all of the "fluff" and just give us a video of the actual runs. 8 minutes of fluff and 2 minutes of actual racing... No offense intended, I'm just saying for quality purposes, the real meat is the racing.

Thanks for the vid tho! Was pretty sweet. Too bad about the CL-S tho.

We were pretty upset about it. When he was attempting to race our friend in the Civic, I think it started to do it when he shifted into third. I think Allmotor has a different clutch (Comptech maybe), so that is why his doesn't slip. I'm not positive about that, though. It only does it in the lower gears, it seems like. I don't think he had any problems getting on it on the freeway. We tried to do a little run on the freeway. We started in third and I could only get to the top of that gear before some guy in a little Nissan truck pulled out in front of me. However, his CL was pulling really hard away from me. I can tell that car really really really wants to go. The thrill of the weekend was when he let me drive it !!

No, I've never dynoed my car. I have a pretty good idea, though, but no actual numbers. There are a couple of other guys with similar setups that make anywhere between 240-260 at the wheels. That is around 340-350 at the crank. Lot of drivetrain loss. The Civic is about 240 or so at the crank (on paper, no dyno). Good amount of power out of a light car like his.

Really?! I wonder why he was having problems then. I remembered to put you in there this time, by the way.

No offense taken. I would actually like you to tell me if you think it sucked. That way, I will learn what to do and what not to do. So, if you think the video blew hard, then let me know. I just wanted to be able to show the cars, though. We didn't have a lot of time to drive around and do action shots, though. I am going to put a video together of just the turbo CL. I have a few more action vids of his car.

I personally would not re-install the Comptech clutch given the extra power... its bound to break! It will be a real pain to remove the tranny with the turbo installed - its already a pain!

blueCLS6: too bad your clutch slips. So what are you going to do about it? New OEM clutch or the CT flywheel/clutch? Nice vid BTW...

I would have liked more action video...

Just FYI, I too have the stock clutch and haven't had any slipping so far. And this is with a bit more time up at these higher power levels.

I would've liked to see more running and less "documentation". Nicely put together though.

Sorry about the video everyone. Since his clutch started slipping, he didn't want to continute driving the car really hard. Plus, we had some time constraints. I do have some other action shots of his CL which I will show you sometime next week or so...if you are interested. None of him racing, though. Just some shots of him driving by sort of hard showing off the sound. Also, a little bit of incar showing off the gauges while driving.

Once he'll get a better clutch we need more action.
TRACK would be my wish #1 for both BlueCLS6 and AllMotor.

... And people dont bother Scalbert he's a very busy guy now

For the most part I agree with what everyone has said.

However any new video with that turbo CL in it is enough for me.

Good point, perhaps if there were also some track runs with the official clock.

Every car is different and behave differently to mods, driving style etc. Yes, the kit is the same but I would assume the cars are somewhat different.

I am sure power output will be close but different (lower or higher... never know) and track times will definateley be different based on how the car is setup etc.

Bottom-line... it probably doesn't matter as long as neither car blows up and we have fun with them

I am surprised by the clutch slipping as BlueCLS6 has very few miles on his car (7K at most). I haven't seen the car or felt the symptoms, but trust Blue's judgement cuz he knows what he's talking about.

Well maybe allmotor can teach me how to drive, then we can get a friendly little race in . That would be kind of intersting actually. We definitely need a camera, and I volunteer allmotor's car for the cameraman since he's a better driver = weight penalty.
