Ok danny I see how it is.... the Maxima leaves and then the camera comes out!

We had a lot of fun and unfortunately I had to leave before they were done.

As danny and I had a lot of fun removing those clips from the bumper we did the installs without taking off the bumper (as previously stated). However, TL owners are screwed as far as Comptech not shipping enough bolts. Of course, the Honda dealership sold us a couple bolts for a like a buck total.

Chris, thanks for all your help Saturday. At least we picked the one good day this month to work on cars! I feel bad 'cause I didn't get a chance to check out your new mods on the Nissan. I won't be so focused on my car next time! Cheers!

I had to make sure no Nissan's would contaminate the pics. :P j/k

I was too busy until the end, and didn't think about taking pics until they were pretty much done. I should have gotten some more pics earlier on in the install to show more of the ice box, oh well.

It's no big deal amigo... I totally understand. All i'd done was my short ram. I had a lot of fun and can't wait to see the finished product. We'll do a big track night/dyno day again soon!

I'm with Danny. Someone needs to hold my hand on that one. Love to do it, though.

Out of extreme curiousity, I spent my snow day yesterday taking apart the taillight housings (4 per car) for two Maximas yesterday. We used our oven (200 degrees for 10 mins) and a heat gun. I personally have always wanted to clear the headlights with one of my Acura buddies. If you don't mind, PM me any instructions you may have.

Thanks,
Casper

most people do not appear to take off the bumper - removal of the inner fender liner is all that is necessary.

no one local to Dallas-Ft Worth has dyno'd one yet, but of the 3 of us that have them, i think we're all pretty impressed by the gains. low-end boost is significant. i guess everyone's waiting for the AEM vs IceBox comparison, so the jury will have to wait a bit.

Yeah, we have also had a week of ice since the Saturday install. In Dallas, that is a big deal. So we haven't even had much chance to road test them!

I started a thread in the Comptech forum about why the Ice Box seems to feel so strong. Ice Box Feel Thread I think that we all think they are doing really well. The butt dyno says it was well worth the money and time spent.

Eventually, we will get these dyno'ed. We have a shop that we have used already so we will have car to car improvements. The trick is us getting in on the same day!

Cheers, Inferno

Not spoil the fun, but once you replace the stock air filter to a new free flow filter you see the gains... However, try to compare a brand new AEM CAI, Injen CAI and the CT Icebox, all will show comparable gains.

Don't know what fun you think you are spoiling, but if you think you can see 10+ horses from a drop in filter, you are greatly mistaken--it isn't even in the same order of magnitude.

I assume you have seen the inside of the stock filter box. As you know, then, it is pretty crappy: very restricted, etc. For the record, Deeznutz had a K&N filter and noticed a big difference between that and the Ice Box.

As for the difference between the AEM and the Ice Box, we have one of each installed on two club cars. Once again, we will have to wait for a group dyno day to say what is what. I think the AEM is a very strong piece of equipment, personally. I expect the two to do very well next to each other.

If you read my intro, I will see was responding to a question about why the intake seems to feel stronger than the headers.

"I understand that some are saying the Ice Box is better than the headers."

That is what I was addressing, nothing more.

Icebox verses AEM (or other) CAI

HP and or Torque difference? - will have to wait for dynos. In my opinion, too close to call. I suspect that the Icebox will be better over all. It is better protected from engine heat.

Sound: Depend on preference. AEM sounds louder and more of a - wooaaahh sound verses a deeper "VTEC-like" growl. I prefer the deeper growl.

Looks: AEM looks better for show. However, I personally waited on the Icebox because I wanted a more stock look under the hood.
