transmission slipping
my transmission started slipping a few weeks ago, and when i checked it it was actually 2 quarts low. I filled it up, and it is still slipping (feels worse now). I only have about 75k miles on it, its a 2001 cl-s, i am pretty sure it is no longer in warranty since i've had it around 8+ years. Is there any chance the dealer will honor a warranty since it only has 75k miles? If not, i am more inclined to take it to aamco then to the dealer, who will probably charge me a lot more to replace the transmission. Anybody use aamco? Thanks

I would not use AAMCO, my friends uncle owns 2 aamco and he even told me not to go there. They low ball u on the price and when your trans is in peices they tell u it will cost double, if u say no they charge you $1000 just to put it back the way it was!
Go to ACURA first and fight for it, call Acura corperate have them open a case #.. Worte that acura can do is tell u it will be $4000 for a new tranny but only $85 diag fee, and best they can goodwill the whole thing.. It is worth a try!
If u don't get help from acra go on the ATRA website and find a rebuilder on there!

FYI my family MDX was slipping a bit in gear on the highway. the fluid was burnt to shit and brown and wreched and I did a 3x3 change and after a day of driving everything went back to normal.
have you ever replaced the ATF filter... that may be plugged causing virtually no fluid to flow.
you may wanna look into that before hand JUST in case... it's worth a shot... no?
