Transmission Service (self)

When one does the transmission service on these cars do they drop the pan and drain it, or simply pump it out?

also, is there a filter you can change or not?

i understand we should only use the honda ATF as well, correct? anyone using mobil 1 or redline?

just wondering as i am planning on doing it in the near future.

Joe

All depends on if you want to replace most of the fluid... search on trans flush... just remove the drain plug and 2.7 qts will drain... put the plug in and refill or plug and refill w 2 qts, run engine, shifting thu the gears plus reverse (yes keep your foot on the BREAK) for two minutes then repeat drain again. Do this three times and then fill... takes about nine qts for a flush.
