Transmission Question, Is this normal?

I have noticed that when I am driving slow, like in parking lot, that shifting from 1>2 (D5) is giving a kind a virbation like stuttering vibrations. The rpm at the shift time is around 2krpm. I dont know if this is common to all CLS or only mine.

I never noticed this with other gears shifting.

BTW, at the mall I saw a brand new Blue CLP (MA License plate) and Black on Black CLS (NH License) exactly like mine .

Yeah I know what you're talkin about...the sound suddenly goes really really deep/low?

If so, then I have the same "issue" as you. Whussup with that???

first, the stuttering is a vibration not a noise, like humming nosie as it is the case when the engined is loaded at high gears.

My best guess so far is that since, the CLS is shifting at low rpm, the drive train of the tansmission gear somehow stall for a 1 sec or 2 until enough toruque has been generated as to be in sync again. It is a kind of hesitation in the transmission system.

Jens may be the best to answer this issue. But, any CLS owner can shut off his A/C Stereo and drive slowly and verify if they have the same issue.

Please guys let us hear what do you have.

I actually took in my CLS to the dealer for that, after 2 spins around the block, they said all was normal. My car jittered like that since day one.

I have noticed this as well. It happened every now and then when I just go the car last July. I have not noticed it in a while.
