Trans. Fluid instead of Brake fluid ...
Good thing it's not with my CLS...
but at work our VP's got a 300ZX he keeps here in storage... well during a routine maintenance check the brakes were not in working order... the brake fluid was found to be non-existent.. and so (to check for leaks) more fluid was put in.
Without checking the bottle, transmission fluid was put in... the brakes were given a few good pumps... and of course were still not working. So the car was towed for service.. where they discovered the fluid mix-up.
Anyways.. they're saying it'll cost ~$2000US to replace all the brake-related rubber parts because the trans. fluid has/will eat through the rubber.
Any second opinions?
thanks,

2. replacing the lines with ss won't change the fact that the calipers and/or master cylinder may have rubber components (i.e., o rings and dust boots).

Dan.. I can't agree with that. We all have done stupid stuff at one time or another..
My younger brother filled up diesel by mistake (this was in UK). Luckily he noticed before starting the engine...
