Tranny upgrade

This has to be a repost

As you may already know V6Performance Network Inc. has been working behind closed doors on an exclusive Automatic Transmission Upgrade to replace the frail pieces originally supplied by Honda. We have a company currently working on the first prototype of this unit.

Here are a few of the features:
- Limited Slip Differential
- Upgraded fiber clutches
- Upgraded torque converter
- Custom built upgraded internal pieces
- Valve body modifications to improve shifting
- All upgrades are COMPATIBLE with the factory ECU
- Shift firmness will be improved
- Shift quality will be improved
- Will OUTLAST the autoTRAGIC transmission Honda is using
- Expected power handling of 500 HP
- Target price is expected to be BELOW the NEW Honda unit

New Honda Unit is like $1500. Aren't they asking like $3,500 to $5,000?!!

And, I doubt modding the orignal crappy Honda tranny can hold 500 HP...

If true.. I can bolt a "200 Shots" and toast the 500 HP tranny in a single 1/4 mile pass.

Sweet! Some thing like this I'll be down with!! Will the gear ratio be shorter?

Time to think about S/C again... that is if this works out....

check out www.v6p.net , all the info is on the home page.
Results will be out in about 3 weeks, we are just waiting for the lsd . The cost is still not set in stone but w/LSD (CL dont need) it should be around 4,000 and less with out the LSD.

$4k

Anyone who has an auto should change cars if they want to run faster than 14's reliably.

4 large bills huh?

Uhhhhmm, NO!

For that amount, take the CL and trade the S.O.B. for a faster and mush more reliable car.

its all a matter of opinion and taste, personally I would rather drive a cl or accord that runs mid 13's than a wrx or evo.

only the 6-speed has LSD. The asking price is actually $5,500.

at this point what ever mods you do to the auto is too much hp for the trans to handle, unless you rebuild with aftermarket racing setup. under normal conditions the trans and ecu replacement is working (for info if you have done ecu chip mods let the dealer know or you will lose you investment).. only problem with 6-speed with increased hp is more torque steer!!!! we have seen the shift cables brake on them under hard shifting!!

It's also a 4 speed from what I was reading:

4spd auto, its a DIRECT REPLACEMENT for the accord v6, and maybe even some other of the honda/acura lines
Blech, too much money on an unknown.

it's a 4 speed w/ no sportshift.

neat idea, but they probably wont sell many.

i'd rather keep shredding the factory units and having them replaced for free.

I hear Austin 519 from is doing a custom build too. He's out in Orlando and the shop is Velocity Resources if anyone's curious. It's on a TL-S btw.

If they can make a magnesium shelled five speed auto with the manumatic, make it tougher for the CL-S application and keep the price under $3000, then we can talk. But that seems to be impossible. :P

Dean has the stock tranny (5AT) and torque converter beefed up with better internals and higher stall speed TC. $2500 + shipping.

There are not as many internal parts available currently for the CLS/TLS 5Speed Autos as there are for the Accord/Preludes. The transmissions above are with Kevlar clutches and hardened steel shafts. We are awaiting the release of Carbon/Graphite clutches for these applications. Running production changes will occur as these parts become available.
