It's really russian roulette. You can change/partially change/flush the ATF often, but at the end of the day, these things can fail no matter what you do.

If your ride has >109,000 miles on it, it either has already gone through a tranny or 2, and so has far fewer miles on the transmission, OR if it is the original one, then it must be a "good" one.

If you know for a fact that it is the original one, you could verify that the oil jet retrofit was done.

In any event, I wouldn't sweat it. There's really nothing you can do to prevent the failure, and the majority of them don't break anyway.

You still have time. There are a MUCH higher percentage of cars that have and probably will never experience failures.

There really isn't much you can do to prevent it.

i have 150 000 miles and not a single problem when it started gettin rough i bought a can of seafoam tranny fluid put it in and a week later flushed out the atf fluid and replaced with genuine honda atf and it shifts flawlessly now and i got like 5000 miles on it since then and it hasnt got any worse since that day so idk keep up with regular maintenance and you should be good. Unless u got a bad tranny and then got like the shittiest one of the bad ones. but if you got that many miles on it already it aint goin anywhere to soon.

Your Warranty is NOT up. Acura extended the tranny warranty to 100K because of these problems. And a recent class action judgment is pushing this out to 109K.
