If you hear your trans slip, you are actually hearing your engine rpm bouncing of the rev limiter.

that is one of the issues with this car, the shift points lag between shifts, causing a huge heat build up. You will know it when it starts to go. Do some searching in the proper forum (transmissions) and you will find all the info you need.
I do not drive my wife's 01 CL-P. So I am uncertain exactly how long the "slipping" was going on. BUT- especially when cold it was slipping major between 1-2 and half as bad between 2-3. It also seemed to lug a bit, not quite lurch, as it hunted for a decel downshift.
Immediately I dropped it off at the local Acura Stealer . . .err...Dealer, and they called me to say 7-10 day wait until a "new" tranny comes in.
It is a warranty item.
They offerred a rental car - no Acura, in the meanwhile.
