tranny going?

ok how do i find out if my tranny is failing? it feels like it doesn't shift well, and sometimes it feels like if you put it in SS and your in 2nd gear when you should be in 3rd, kinda like that stick feeling where if you hit the gas you will go, but if you don't then it's useing the motor to slow you down..does this mean that the tranny is going? what should i tell my dealer? ALSO how my alignment is off and i only have 6k miles on my car..is this under warrenty? how do i get my dealer to fix this? i think i mentioned it to them before and they said they couldn't do it because of my rims..is that bs?
Thanks for da info!

Depending on how you drive it, i think it changes the shift points. Sometimes after I've driven it hard, it will hold gears longer even if i'm just driving like a granny at that point. So it holding gears longer is just it adjusting to the redline racing you were just doing.

Other than that, I don't know.

I had my doubts about the tranny in the very beginning. It tends to "hunt" for a gear even in sport shift mode. A few of the more knowledgeable members suggested that it was the torque converter locking and unlocking that causes this. My particular concern was that in climbing a long hill and being in sport shift 4, it would appear to step down or up and the RPM's varied. This is under cruise mode as well, not full acceleration. Maybe this helps?

Unforetunately, the alignment is not coverd by warranty. You can tell a lot about alignment by how your tires are "feathering". Unless you have gross wear, run your hands lightly over the inside tread and outside tread. See if you feel any bumps, low spots, or anything else unusual. The feathering is a phenomena where you can actually see some light edges that are a little higher than the rest of the tire. They look like the edge of feathers, hence the term, feathering.

Does your car pull right or left on a flat surface, not a crowned road but flat? Does it pull when you stop?

ya it pulls when to the left on a flat road. i don't think it pulls when i stop though, i think it's very very slightly off because i don't really notice it when driving normally, but when i'm crusing on the freeway i can totally tell..also do you think this could be because my breaks are warped? i think they are because when i'm going at about 60 the car kinda shakes...
thanks

The pulling to the left sounds like alignment. The vibrating sounds like out of balance tires. If the rotors were warped it would shudder or vibrate when you touch the pedal. JMO though. I would have itr checked. Alignment is cheap compared to 2 worn tires.

I don't ever recall anyone saying that.
Some mods require alignment (i.e. springs) but that's not free.
