Tranny Failure # 1 Million

So my tranny went ( big suprise )

But un-like every one else mine didnt go suddenly its been going now for a year, but as soon as I noticed it was starting to go I put in a tranny cooler and changed 3 quarts of tranny fluid every oil change and babied the hell out of it

A year later Bye Bye 01 CLS tranny, Hello 06 Oddysse tranny w/25 000 miles I just dropped it off at my meachnics yesterday(gave him some insrtuction on the swapp ,thanks too insturction from NVA-AV6) and hopefully this is the end of my tranny problems.

BTW this is cheaper than a rebuild and hopefully will last longer, because apperentialy the 06 doesnt have the same defect hopefully all works out and we have a fix for our slush buckets.

Thanks to NVA-AV6 and P.diddy

i imagine it is beefed up due to the fact it is newer and meant for a van. All the crazy soccer moms drive them into the ground so they gotta be made for some heavy abuse. Plus people tow with those things

I thought the same thing

NVA-AV6 siad that they just shift a little slower and that is all in the programing so i think thats how they handle the extra weight but mine should shift like a 06 TL or like the cl (hopefully better)

Congrats is a little early LOL well see if it is easy or hard when I talk to my meachanic today cause he should be starting today

hes been pretty busy but he did take a look at the one I picked up from the wreckers he siad that it looked really good for an, which means it might actually have only 25000 miles on it so thats good news

But he did say that the one of the solenoids was broken so hopefully he can take it off of mine and put it on the new one (there around $200)

but thats it for now

I was taken care of well with my last rebuild.. actually I have sent 2 azine members from the tl side to get their trans rebuilds. one has done last week and one is being done right now... and they builds were like 1700CAD all in.. and trannys are running mint again.

new tq converter, gears, and w/e else is needed ..

anyone else need a trans build hollar

To diddy & fluffy (sounds weird), anywho, I've been reading up on some posts following you guys' decision to go with 3G TL tranny or the 06 Odyssey tranny.

I have an 03 CL...and have been the one and only owner since 02. First tranny went at 20k, second by 30k...this third one lasted me to my present spot at 196k. I'm trying to decide if I need to get this rebuilt or go for this 06 TL tranny I've been considering (got about 20k on it). What instructions do I need to give the mechanic if I get this 06 TL tranny I've been eying?

It's a private shop that has been servicing Hondas and Acuras for many years in my area. I'm sure he'll be familiar with the parts, but don't want him to mess this up AT ALL. I absolutely don't want this to turn into a money pit. If it's going to go this route, I may cut my losses and get another car.

LOL.

well first off your an example of why i went the 3g route. those rebuilt trannys just keep going out. i strongly recommend to do the 3g or oddy tranny swap. according to NVA the following needs to be done and your good.

-filter housing
-the trans range switch
-Drill and tapp a couple of holes
