Tranny Cooler Installation Instructions

If anyone has not seen this install, check it out. It is very informative. I will be doing this upgrade on my tranny as soon as I receive the cooler (we all know I need it)

Here is the link if anyone else wants to buy a tranny cooler.

Also, does anyone know if using B&M TrickShift transmission fluid will cause any problems? I heard you are only supposed to use Honda ATF fluid, but the B&M fluid sounds really good for us. Any opinions?

The Comptech 5AT SC kit came with a cooler. I stuck with the Honda Z1 for now. I've got 4k miles with the blower, 12 k total, and the factory fill is still nice and pink.

Hey ModAddict, how do you like to S/C? Does it feel really strong or just a little faster?

Mattg: See the only reason I was looking at the B&M fluid was because Summit gives 4 quarts of the stuff for free when you buy the tranny cooler. I figured I would just buy another 4 quarts (I believe our trannys use 8 quarts) & try it out, but I don't want to cause any complications with the tranny/warranty. I guess I will stick to the Honda ATF.

Shipping depends on where you live. Anywhere from 3-5 days.

if you do use another fluid, it's not like they will be able to tell. as long as it's the same color.

not like they will be shocked or anything to see a cl-s come in for a trans.

Did you ask about using a tranny cooler?

I'm going to see what my dealer says next time I'm in for service. I don't want to be denied a new tranny because my fluid is too cold. I'm sure if I pay them to install it, it won't be a problem.

The blower kit really made a pretty big difference, but installing the 6 psi pulley really woke it up. I'm waiting for the first shippment of the Stone Racing headers, so I've still got the stock manifolds and A-pipe. Once they're in I'll dyno and 1/4 mile, and then again after the intercooler.
We'll see where were at then! I'd like to get the TL-S up over 300 whp w/o the bottle.

Looks like you are heading in the right direction.
I would like to hear any updates (good or bad) on the car's performance as well as the tranny's life. Feel free to PM me if you have any news.

Here's your answer from their tech dept,,,

No reformulation was necessary for the Honda/Toyota spec release on the ATF. Therefore, the labels aren’t going to reflect the new spec’s for a while yet, but the use has been authorized
