traded my cl for

an rl. thought i was going to say g35?? huh??

i got 15,500 for my 01 clp with 48k
in turn i bought a 2000 rl with 35k

the 2 things i will miss
1) sport shift
2) tilting mirror

but i love the look and the smoother throttle.
they gave me an offer i couldnt refuse at lehigh valley acura.
the general manager was the sales person and i was out of there w/in a coupla hours

Boy oh boy.. You just love your Gold color, dont ya...

Damn, you give her a ring and then you drop your coupe for a sedan. I am sooo ashamed......

J/K. My dad has a Silver 03 RL. And I LOVE it. I would pimp it if it had a nice set of rims... Cant beat the quality of the RL...

And yeah, Frank was my sales guy to. I hate talking to a sales "kid" that looks to be about 19...

you really gotta do substantial modding to an RL to get it away from the GRANDPA CAR look. why did you do that trade? from a newer 2 door to an older, slower, grandpa mobile?

without lowering, rims, tint, new lighting, some sort of body kit, etc, that car looks too grandpa style.

hopefully the new RL will be a better looker (and performer) than the current gen.

jimcol i think i will leave it stock, it has a classy look to it that i like.

and i got it for 20k, and typeSkid, you are right it is smoother than my cl. i prefer smoothness. i could never pull out just right so i am smooth.

lol, well AT LEAST get rid of the awful stock wheels and get some window tint. that, alone, would be a huge step in the right direction.

keep it stock. some cars are not worth modding.

Congrats, though I am surprised you didn't go for an '02 or '03 for a few feature improvements (though of course costing more) considering they should have a huge depreciation hit due to the '04s having $3500 factory-to-dealer and the '05 has now debuted and is going to be incredible. They'd also still have a strong amount of the factory warranty left.

You didn't mention what the RL cost you, so I can only assume, and my assumption would be either you got it for an amazing price and walked away close to breaking even, or the sales manager did a good job and offered you a strong price on your trade-in but kept a strong price on the RL.

Either way, congrats on the new car. =)

My grandmother doesn't drive... but to the rest of it.

Not sure I understand the change either. I understand the smoother ride part, but that car is so underpowered. Not a fan of gold on a silver car either....

But, to each their own.... good luck with it!!

no i have always liked teh rl.
you have to understand, growing up i never had anything handed to me. i have worked since 14 (now 29) and have worked hard cept now, everything i own i paid for. i paid for every car i have ever had, the parts and ins.
i know there are many on her who have worked hard to earn everything they
have also. i don't have to explain why i buy some thing, but i like to give insight
to my decision when i think appropriate. i like luxury cars, i also like 4 doors better than 2. trust me i LOVED my cl. and i also got a better deal than the tl i test drove
rl>tl-p

no hard feelings

Nice! I was so close to getting an RL right before I leased my CL-S. I really like the simple, classy styling.
