That's no faster than a CL-S 6speed. Plus the '04 has a lot more torque steer.

04 TL 6MT is faster then 03 CLS 6MT (stock vs. stock)

I dont usually rely on magazine time, however Motor Trend keeps bringing more acurate times (close to what people show on the track) comparing to say stupid times of Road & Track.

Anyway, 04 TL 6 MT (1/4 mile) ran 14.4 and with A-SPEC package showed 14.2 all stock.
Now compare that time with stock CLS 6MT .

CLS interior is nice, but 04 TL is much better. This line is just opinion and the above numbers are fact .

Mine is !
I would bet most people who don't belong to this board (and a lot who do) have a stock CL. For me, the stock cls is fine...0-60 in 6.6 secs is all I need.

I've decided to keep mine stock too. It already has enough power to get me into trouble anyways

Most dealer trades suck. you had good luck, but now seems they are trying to take advantage.

The current black book value (Alabama edition) for an extra clean 03 CL-S with 6-speed and Navi and 24k miles is $22,600 less $950 for the manual and $850 for extra miles = $20,800. This would be for a like new or nearly new condition vehicle. The clean black book (wholesale) value is $22,000 less $950 for the manual and $550 for the miles = $20,500. The black book value is what most dealers refer to when pricing a trade in, because it reflects what the cars are bringing at auction (what used car dealers are willing to pay). The black book value is determined by region or state, and may be a little different depending on where you are.

Remember, that we are all enthusiasts here. We love these cars, and for good reason. Many of us prefer and love the manual. However, we are not the masses! Thank God for that! Most people buying a used CL right now, probably don't even know that Acura stopped selling them, and most don't want a manual (nor do most people even know that a manual was offered).
It's the masses, and the bean counters that determine the prices, not us entusiasts.

My suggestion is to never trade in a vehicle unless you have no time or a lot of extra cash on you. You should always be able to sell the car to someone for a price greater than the wholesale value, if you take the time and the energy to do so. Buyers are out there. It is just a matter of finding your buyer.

Auto dealers are in the business to make money and that is what it is all about for them. I'm not saying that that is wrong, but just the way that it is.
I buy and sell sports cars, and had my dealer license up until a few months back. I still get the black book values, and other publications with inside information. This is how and why I can pass on to you whatever limited knowledge I have. Use it at your own risk! But seriously, Good luck selling if you decide to do so. If anyone is interested I am selling my personal car:

03 TW CLS 6speed with 17k miles and no Navi. It has a S/C and a few other goodies, and more info is on the Black Market forum. And, no, I will not sell it at a wholesale price, so don't even ask! By the way, Chopper, you have pics!

Another car for sale 01 Porsche Turbo, 6speed, mint, 6.5k miles $92.5k.

I actually rode in a brand new TL last night. I loved the restyling but have to say it was a turd. My 6spd is much stronger, and even my GF 03 TL S with 30K miles on it is faster. THe one thing that really impressed me was how quiet the cabin was and how rigid the body feels.

Yeah typically sedans with manuals are harder to sell second hand.

I had had my certified used 03 CLS 6 speed for a month and decided I got the wrong color combo and tried to trade in for another CLS 6 speed. The same dealer offered me wholesale! I had bought 2 cars already from them but they don't care about repeat business.
I luckily sold it myself and got my current one in OK 9 months ago.

I looked at BMW 330 coupes and they were asking more for the manual shifters!

3.2cl-s

If you want an amazing deal, i have a 01 CLS Cert (still under B2B warranty til April 05 or 62000miles) with 43000, in Excellent condition. I'm about to get into a 05 TL/Navi Lease. I can probably get the dealer to give you an Extended B2B Warrenty to 100K from the dealer, they owe me big time.

Let me know as i'm about to give it to the dealer, or i can let them know your interested in buying it.

I am still convenced there is no real reason to get rid of my CL. Gas prices suck and the economy is poor. Up until the CL I traded in cars anually, but I am keeping this one until the extended warranty expires atleast.
