Probably about 65 Degrees. </= 50% Humidity..
My best run in the car was 14.5 also, gate shifting.
CL weighed in at ~ 3700 lbs. just incase ^^ he said that before I got to it

1-- You can control the 1-2 Shift, therefore letting you get closer to the Rev Limiter as to not drop out of VTEC when the gears do change.
2-- Some will argue that it shifts faster than SS mode even
The tranny will actually shift before 7k in Regular "D3,4,5" mode
The CLS rev limiter is at 7200k (Fuel cutoff).
The goal being to get as close to the limiter as possible without actually hitting it. It's all in timing the shifts.

on the 1-2 if you're acctually making the movement of the stick from the left to the right at the rate you'd be accelerating it'd be at 8000 rpms before the signal was acctually received and shift initiated... 6900 on the 2-3 sure but not the 1-2

These engines reve really quick and the trans . . well quite honestly SUCK! They shift like maple syrup on a cold Vermont morning. Meaning that they shift slow, so you;ll need to practice a bit to get used to the timing.
For guys like me who've shifted by feel and sound (easy to do with a big V8) this car is more challenging because it revs so easy and is still rev happy at 7000rpm it's really easy to hit the rev limiter . . . which ends up hurting your times.

not to sound like an ass...but i got 100$ for someone who'd like to show me they move the stick from the D1 to D2 postion at 6900 rpms and dont hit the rev limiter...w/o taking your foot off the pedal,and at WOT

Ok, tried to make a quick run just for my own sake and be sure where it works and doesn't. Of course no two cars perform exactly the same, but in my case it can anticipate the needle right before it hits the redline and it won't hit the rev limiter . . if it get's in to the red line then it's too late . . rev limiter engaged.
So, since the redline is 6900, 6800 would be just before it. So my initial comment about making the shift about 6800, but before 6900 still stands as the rev limiter doesn't engage until 7200.
Maybe TypeR's is reving faster because of his mods, so it's possible both are right . . . but based on my quick test, if you've not started your action to shift by time the needle hits 6900 . . to late.
On another point worth mentioning here, I can be more agressive on my 1-2 shift than 2-3 because of the natual stop you have. Meaning I can slam the shifter faster and harder because I don't have to worry about the shifter slipping up in to another gear . . . think of it as a slap stick action. This I believe is a key factor in allowing me to "anticipate" the 6800/6900 mark and agressively slapping it over in to 2nd.
I'm going to try this again and see if it hold true as the streets were wet and it was a bear to keep from breaking the tires loose in 1st gear at any RPM.
In the end, the reality may be somewhere between these points as we'd need a digital tach to really know what point we are really shifting at. The guage is to vague to know exactly what RPM it is shifting at . . . . especially since we can't stare are the tach while driving.
So it's possible the shift point of no return is before 6800, but I'm absolutely certain I can shift past 6200 or 6500 RPM without a problem . . . and I'd put $1,000 on it.

Okie dokie. So I'll even agree that the shift comes after 6500, I know.

Ok, one more time (12 runs in total) . . . this time on a dry street.
Based on watching the tach as closely as possible if I don't make the shift move by time the needle hits the 6750 mark I hit the rev limited 50%. If I hit it before the 6750 mark . . . no rev limiter. If I try to push it past the 6750 mark, ie close to redline I hit the limiter 3 out of 4 runs. In the runs from 6500 or less . . obviously no rev limiter issues.
So it seems that the truth lies somewhere in between what TypeR and some of us other have experienced.
I will say that you have to be quick on the shift pushing it about 6500, but found 6750 to be safe after some practice . . .
On thing I did notice . . on 2 of the runs I made the shift past the redline (right about 7000) and so the shift took place where the rev limiter typically kicks in . . . but it didn't on those 2 runs. So what happened on those two runs where it should have kicked in . . the RPM was past the 7200 mark, the 7250 mark to be exact . . . ???? I have know idea, but it was still pulling stong at that point.
Wish it would let us go to 7000-7200 . . . the engine seems to still respond and the next gear ends up in a higher powerband . . especially those with headers. For those without mods I'm not sure what the gains would be without some track time to back it up . . . hey isn't spring almost here? Track time . . I'll have to try and duplicate that sort of run and see what happens to my times/splits.
