Track advice?

I'm going to the local dragstrip tomorrow. I have a bone stock 03 CLS-6. Just looking for some advice on how to launch. I figure a 3K rpm dump in 1st and light throttle would be best for launching. I want to avoid wheelhop (and breaking axles).

For the upshifts... should I shift @ redline in 2nd, 3rd and 4th ? Or slightly lower like around 6500. I will probably experiment anyway with different launch techniques and shift patterns, but just thought I'd ask for some insight to those that have already "walked this way"!

Thanks guys!

our cars need to be taken to 7200 rpms for best results, just dont hit the limiter

lower the pressure up front

Yeah I know about dropping the pressure up front, I usually go down to 22psi.

So no clutch dropping eh... I guess a slight clutch slippage to get the car rolling will make it last longer, and also eliminate wheelhop. I noticed on my 2 launch trials on the street that a mild slip from 3k had no wheelhop whereas a 3K drop was full of it.

Any other advice?

I didn't go today because of the rain, but I am going tomorrow (Sunday).

Stay tuned for results. I'm aiming for at least a 14.5!

LOL You won't be shifting at redline into 4th. You'd need about 360+ whp to be shifting into 5th gear at the quarter mile in the CL-S 6MT. You'll need to shift to 4th at like 100 feet before the finish. But yes, shift at redline.

I'm predicting 14.8 @ 97 MPH

Damn you're good. 14.8 was my best ET and 97mph was my best trap!
