To Toyo or to Yoko?
Have you ever considered Continental tire? I just ordered some Continental Contiextreme contact tires in OEM size. They have an outstanding review average at Tirerack.com. Continental must be doing something right to be the tire of choice for Porsche 911.

they're the '01 rims, so yeah, they jet out, and the tires jet out more too, so there's a slim chance of road rash/curbing

there r way too many factors where u can break down prices like in tires...i guess it all comes down to softness/hardness of tire, technology used to develop/implement in the tire, compound/treadlife, etc...when u play GT3 and r buying tires, u pay quite a hefty $$ for softer and softer tires, and u get a lot better grip but at the expense of treadlife...Pilot Sport A/S's have a technology where they combined the softness of a real performance tire with the longevity treadlife of a firmer tire, so they charged u $200 a pop b/c this was a new concept for them...and this concept earned them the best a/s tire in comparo tests done by TireRack
don't ferget too yer paying for brandname...for ex, Michelin tires r naturally inflated just b/c they're Michelins...Kumho isn't as "popular" in passenger cars as Michelin, so yer gonna see a more realistic price
dunno if this is helping much

I had the Toyo FZ4's on my car for about 600 miles - they were loud and squealed almost as much as the stocks did. I returned them and got the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S - they are definitely worth the extra price - hardly squeal, not much louder than the stocks, handle great in rain/dry, and they have a 400 treadwear rating so they should last a bit longer than the stocks.
I have the Yoko AVS DB not sure about the 2 though. Tough to compare to anything cause i've only had stock on beside these. I have the 235-45-17's. A huge improvement over stock, but you'd get that with just about any Z rated tire. They are quiter, drastically changing the sound when going from asphalt to concrete portions of the highway. They have a decent tread ware rating too.
I Just got rid of the stock Mich's after 3k on my '03 CL-S...put on a new set of Sumitomo HTR+. They are excellent so far...today I got to test them in the wet road conditions and they were amazing compared to the mich's.....the stats and reviews on Tirerack.com are accurate for these Sumi's . They cost me 337 total (w/shipping!!!) for the set.
