Totaled my car, or...pretty close

Friday night coming back from a friends house (strangely enough i had no alcohol, or anything else...i was straight) I flicked a ciggarete out the sunroof...the cherry or little red ash fell in my lap (no burning or anything, i just thought it was the actual ciggarette) so i was reaching down to get it when an unsuspected turn popped outta the dark, i turned the steering wheel to the left real quick and the side of the car hit the "start" of the gaurd rail, and the left front of the car went into a sort of hill (goind upward, all dirt no rocks) and chipped a telephone pole... i'm not sure of everything yet, nor do i come online much, but the front axles are definatley broken, and the back end of the car sort of looked likesd 4pumpedCL's car (the night of the acident, i haven't even got my springs put in yet!), and inurance guy looked at the car at the towing yard, and also i heard my tranny is gone, my mom tells me,i have like 7,030 miles on the car! (*i'm not one of those 17yr olds whose parents brought them out to a deaership to buy them a $30k car, I was paying it off, then my parents surprised me on my graduation with the title to my car, they switched the payments over to 3 credit cards, but this is not the time to defend my honor)...i'm gonna find out all the damages for sure this week...

1. I know insurance is going to cover the damages to the car, but will they cover my rims? (18 inch chrome)...i don't know the condition of the sway bars, or strut, or intake...etc....
will insurance cover aftermarket parts f they're damaged?

2. I heard that if the axles of a car are broken the insurance companies usually total the car...would they be cheating me, by not totalling the car (my car is paid off) and trying to fix it?

***Don't flame me, i know i made a dumb mistake, and i'm pissed off about it...really don't need to hear no more sh*t...but rather some help, maybe someone was in a similar situation...***

3. I'm not 100%, but i'm pretty sure my drivers side, side airbag never delployed, resulting in bruises on my left arm, dealer was suppposed to fix that, but we were waiting on some parts they ordered cause the sensor or some s*t was broken...

P.S. I'm sorry i'm not 100% on everything, but can't really do nothing on weekends with insurance companies, or police dept.,and my parents work while i'm home in the mornings, and i work when they get home in the afternoons, when i get back from work they're usually asleep...

insurance companies only total the cars if their repair value is over half of the cars' current value....and insurance company will not pay for your custom rims unless u have declared them at the time u insurance your cls.if u do not declare, insurance companies will just fix your cars back to its original exterior and conditions..most of the insurance companies only insure the custom mods and stuffs (such as custom stereo systems and aftermarket mods) for up to $3000....
air bags not deployed??don't worry.that happen all the time..specially on honda/acura cars..a friend of mine totalled his 96 honda civic EX..the front end was totaled and not even a single air bag deployed.and i have heard from other honda/acura car owners about the same problems too...
first of all..make sure your insurance company is going to fix your cls..if not..then that will be different story and they will pay u a check with its current value minus your deductable..so good luck then....

i was acutally gonna trade the car infor a s2k about a month ago, they said it was valued at $25g, and that's what they offered, so if the damages are around 12500 they might total the car? then would get like a 25k minus deductible check right?

ya sort of..but insurance company determines the current car value. they might not base on blue book or dealers

Actually, I believe it’s more like 90 percent these days.

I quit smoking a couple months ago, but when I did, I always put my butts out on my tongue to prevent the old "blowback" of the ashes!!!

Good luck, man.

80% to total the car. As far as aftermarket equipment being covered, it all depends on the company. Some companies may allow replacement of aftermarket parts if you can furnish them receipts like a credit card statement verifying you paid for it, and the estimator from the insurance company would have to verify the aftermarket parts are there when he does his estimate.

You guys have to quit smoking. I heard numerous stories like this because of people flicking shit out of their car. I had a guy throw a plastic water bottle out of his car right next to me, I kept my horn on for about 5 minutes straight.

I had some CUNT flick a lit butt out at me once.

It bounced off my hood in a shower of sparks and landed on top of the wiper arm.
It stayed there bouncing around in the air stream for about 1-mile until we came to a stoplight.

She was stopped in front of me at the light and I was in one of those “moods”.
I got out of my car and grabbed the butt and threw it into her Lexus where it landed right on the passenger seat leather.
She didn’t look too happy when I said: “Oops, I guess I missed the ashtray”.

Sorry about your car, but was that cigarrette really worth all that trouble?

Lets see, being a broke pedestrian..........lighting up another cancer stick.................explaining to my parents that their hard earned money just went up in smoke or out the window ( no pun intended )........................lighting up another cancer stick.

Do what you want to your body, hey, you have to live with it, but it would be better if you could drive a nice car instead of walking around. I hope you get your car fixed, then get your habit fixed or something like this could happen again.

I remember several years back, I had parked my Mom's Hyundai Sonata in a parking lot at a relative's apartment complex. We hung out for about 45 minutes and then decided to go out.

When we got downstairs, my car was surrounded by firefighters and they had my hood open. Luckily, someone saw the car smoldering before the fire got out of control and called 911l. The hood was damaged, but the car was still driveable.

The fire inspector came by and determined that some careless a**hole was walking by and flicked their cigarette. It landed on a plastic vent between the windshield and the hood, which made the car catch on fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cig butts

F**k Me! I was riding my XJ 600 last summer when some Cletus in his pickup threw a lit butt out the window - it bounced off my helmet and down the inside of my shirt, rolling & burning the whole way. By the time I pulled off the highway I had four nasty blisters and a temper that made me glad my 9mm was back in the house!

No sympathy for your car dude, but at least you are OK & seemed to have clued in .
