I'm a noob when it comes to 'racing' the CLS, but what exactly is 'torque-braking'? How do you do it? And when people say they chirp 2nd gear, how does that happen? I only heard of chirping 2nd on MTs. Again just another noob when it comes to 'racing'.

 

torque braking use 2 feet

1 foot completely down on brake

other foot reving gas to wanted RPM usualy about 2k holy it at 2k white foot is on brake when light goes green let go of brake and smash the gas

 

press brake pedal
press gas pedal
watch rpms climb
release brake
mash gas
off you go


chirping is more a function of weather conditions / road conditions with an auto dont worry about it

 

cross your fingers that your tranny wont crack

 

yea, i chirp into second now ever since i got the headers in... and i'm auto

 

chirpn; 2nd is when u bark the tires on the 1-2 shift

 

I understand what it is, I don't understand why car doesn't do it, while I've heard others have (NA of course).

ive chirped going into second only once but my tires were slightly damp

 

My tires always chirp 1-2 when I am going wide open, and I am not on stock rubber anymore, Yokohama AVID V4s
