TL-S Vs. Me

First I want to apologize, it's not nice to pick on slower cars!

I was heading out last night (saturday night in chicago) and noticed a nice looking Acura (Im a big fan of most of the new Acuras). Noticed it was a 4 door, and was hoping it was a TL-S. (I really had no intention of racing) Sure enough I pulled close enough to read the badge on the back. I was just admiring the car when I noticed that it was fully tinted (indication of a younger guy), and the guy kept nosing ahead of me every time I evened up to check out the car. Sure enough we get stopped at a light, both of us up front. Im just looking over, not really anticipating a race, he wasnt revvin and neither was I. Light turns green and we both pull out the light normally, but at 15 MPH he guns it. (at this point I was about 1/2 car length ahead of him. I hear his motor rev up and immediately slam the peddle to the ground. (Bad move, because my subs are not mounted in the back so I tore the ground/power/remote out of their slots) I immediately stopped his progress and began to pull. We shut down fairly quickly because once I stopped his pull I started walking him HARD. Whoo hoo, so I was all happy just waiting to come post it on this site. But the story doesnt end there.
We get stopped at another light, and he decides to rev a little. well this time I pondered, "Well, I already tore my ground/power/remote out, and my subs and amp are lying against the back tailgate, so why not just launch the fuck out of the Obese Machine." So of course I oblige, I can never let someone think they out launched me. Launch at idle, which is enough to pull 2.0 60 fts. Nothing really to write here, it was over. I love the S-Types, really thought about a CL-S, but I do have to say I love surprising people.

Im sure someone will call BS, or ask my mod list:

My last time at the track I ran a 14.8 with FIPK/ECU (9.4 1/8th)

Now I have a little more.

And yet still more to install.

What track did you run at?? Are the 5.9s in the Cherokee the same as the Dakota R/T's?

I have run the Jeep at Byron and UG. But I personally hate both. UG's track prep this season absolutely sucks ass. The 5.9 is nearly identical in the GC as in the DAK's. However, the GC, being AWD, does not have the traction issues the Dak's do. (At least in stock form, I have trouble keeping the back end down sometimes)

Union Grove is the worst track in the midwest. Everyone I know that runs there says it sucks. I run mostly at Route 66 because its close to my house. There is always a few R/T Dakotas there and it seems like they run mostly 15.5+. Last time I went there were 2 R/Ts (with a K&N intake and exhaust) that ran each other all night. They running like 15.8 all night without traction problems. It was real hot and humid though, but that affected my car too.

Yeah I need to hit up Rt. 66, just to know where Im at now.

I have never been a fan of the DAK, but I have heard varied stories about them, speed wise.

Stock I ran 15.2, so that just gives you an idea of the 5.9.

Rt.66 is closed now for the season. Personally I think its a slower track than Byron is. Last time I was there I ran a 15.0@95, but it was like 90 degrees and almost 100 percent humidity. I went just for fun and not for hard core times. I didnt even take my golf clubs out of my trunk

What kind of time and traps do you run modded?

I honestly dont want to even guess what I will run, it's gay, and I can't stand people who talk shit like that. My last run was the 14.8@90 *FIpk/ecu

Obviously the Jeep wont trap like a car, at least without heavier modification. There are quite a few jeeps out there that fly. (12's and faster) There is a huge aftermarket, performance and off road.

nice kill... man that 5.9 motor is monstrous... I wonder what something like that would do in a smaller/lighter car... impressive to run a 14.8 in a 4400 lb SUV...

I dont have any current 1/8th times with my set up now. My old times were 9.4@7X something. That was with a K&N Cone and ECU.

I have a significant amount of more modifications. I dare say I will be in the 8's.
