No friggin way That sucks. You spend that much on a new ride at least they can give you a decent car not a POS. Acura is trying too much to be on top and forgetting the essentials of safety and spending that extra $

That really sucks As has been posted before, BMW has issued a recall for the fire problems. At least no one was hurt.

It just goes to show that they all make mistakes. We were all picking on BMW for their cars catching fire and now we find out the TL-S does too. probably just an isolated case of the dealer screwing it up , but still.

THIS HAPPENED TO ME!

ok, well, as you guys might know after my CAI install, i dont know shit about installing, electrical stuff, engines, etc... not good with my hands at all..

So yeah, anyways, one day i needed my trunk space, so i took out my amp and my 2 12" box... I left the AMP wires that were coming in from the battery loose on the floor of the trunk, with no tape around the ends..

Okay, to make a long story short, i was driving on Highway 7 and Bayview, while smoke started coming from UNDER the steering, wheel, and LOTS of it!..

SO obviuosly, after watching lots of movies in my day, the first thing i do is slam on the brakes, and run out of the car like a bitch thinking its gonna blow up... it didnt blow up, long story short, yeah i had the same experience, but it was my fault

You can only get away with that in Toronto. You'd be dead in the US.

who knows, i wouldn't jump to conclusions about the dealer, ......thousands of parts, miles of wire.........all built by the lowest bidder!

Were you wearing one of those headdresses with the rope around it? They must have thought you were a mad bomber who set the fuse too short.

BTW, this sounds like it was some tech at that dealer's fault, not an electrical problem that is waiting to happen in all our cars. If this happens to a second car, then begin to worry.

Damn amir - you are just an awesome source of laughs for my day... I really appreciate the comical relief you bring my day.

BTW sigs - that ASSUMES he wired it to a fuse... if he were smart (no comment) then he would have a fusable link in between his power source and the bare wires thrashing around in his trunk.

BTW amir - use wire nuts next time.

Oh my GOD! Amir! I'm laughing so hard, it' taken me enough time to scroll down to stop tearing long enough to actually write this! That was so FREAKING hilarious! People are coming to my cube asking me WTF is wrong with me. I'm here, tears running down my face. I got a visual of you slaming on the brakes, jumping out of the car and running away from the car all wide-eyed and sweating....while some hobo walks past your car looking first at it...then you...then walking on past shaking his head!

You should write columns man!
