my fiance bought her tl last may and three months later while getting on the freeway, the car is stuck on 3rd gear. literally, the car would not shift. so she gets off the next exit and turns off her car and restarts. same shit but now the car is stuck i second. she goes home makes the appt. to go to the dealer. days later she drives her tl in second all the way to the dealer. dealer said she needs a new transmission and this was the first time they ever had to replace a 2000 tl tranny. the car is fine now, but she's kind of freaked out by this whole experience. any of you guys hear of anything like this with acura cars?

Sounds like an isolated case, but stories like this are the reason I am buying the extended warranty for my car.

Can you imagine how much that would cost if it weren’t covered by warranty?
