Has anyone in here tried putting a 2nd Gen TL Rear 3-Person bench seat in the back of a CL? This would allow it to hold 5 people instead of 4. Ideally it sounds like it could be done fairly easy?

Isn't there a size difference between the 2 seats?

 

The TL rear seats might be a little bit wider but once there squeezed in it would probably be un-noticable

 

I dont know if it would work but I think it would be easier to take out that compartment and upholster a piece and put it there and then attach a seat belt

I tell people I only have four seats and they say no way and get in any way (there usually drunk at this point and think there is three seats back there)

 

the bottoms are diff. the back will fit (based on mounting points) but the bottoms are diff.

 

Wow this happens to me all the time, tell the drunky like 5 times theres only 2 back seats, they cram in anyway and sit in the middle, then start talking shit about how uncomfortable it is, then i hit vtec to make them more uncomfortable.

 

take the seats out. thats how i ride all spring/summer. completely stripped. but i have sat in the back with no seats and its not that bad. until u hit a bump

 

I personally hate having ppl in my backseat. Cant keep an eye on what they are doing hehe. I dont use my backseat and removed it last week. Dunno if Ill put it back or not. I like having an excuse to not let ppl use my backseat. Im so anal about my car i would never even let drunkies in it.

 

Ive let three people in my back seat, my friends girlfriend when his lazy ass didnt want to drive, my mother when I first got the car, and my neice a few times.

The last time anyone sat back there was last summer. I dont like anyone getting in my car because they get my carpet dirty

 

nobody has sat in my back seat.

i would think less because theres no fat chunky plastic piece in the middle

 

the bottom portions (8-10lbs together), back portion (15lbs), and the small compartment (5-8lbs) all estimates and not actual weight

If I'm not mistaken, the biggest problem with having 3 people in the back is the weight, not the space. Even if you can get the back seat to fit, your tires may rub.

 

I have floor mats. I also have OCD.

 

weight has nothing to do with it. cl is identical to a tl, minus 2 doors and some cosmetics.

one of the reasons i didnt get a cl was because it only had 4 seats.
so if this can be done id have one more reason to buy one.

I'd imagine that the area is not as wide, and the mounting points look different as well, I'd be interested to see if it works, but I doubt it

 

i think it'll be easier to make a custom cushion there since tehre's already holes to mount a bracket on and build on that.

i always carry 5 people with me when we go to lunch... (that means someone sits on the hard ass middle)i would like to know if this fits also.. i sometimes carry 6 people so this would help on people's butts

 

i was gonna swap the seats over, but the tl is pissing me off and dont want to touch that fuckin car at the moment.

i did an easier solution. i put up a sticker over it. but the fuckin vibrations and loss of power is whats pissing me off.

 

i noticed yesterday after warmed up start my car was shaking at the idle and going to stall when i rev it i felt like one of cylinders are not working but after it stall and i start it, its normal
