Tire Question

As soom of you know(not many seeing i just start posting) I recently lost my baby to an accident(being fixed though). Anway... I was thinking of getting the Michelin Pilot Sport. Does anyone have any comments on these tires, good or bad? Or maybe even a suggestion to go with others. Just need a little feedback.

Great tire...

You may want to consider the S03s also.

Are the Pilot Sports or the S03s both summer performance tires or are they all season tires? I don't like the stock tires on my '03 CL-S so I've been considering getting new rubber as well. I live in AZ so it doesn't rain much, but I would still like to get a good all season in case I ever move back to snow country.

Lots of people seem to like the S03s though...haven't really read of any dislikes or complaints from the forums here.

The best ALL season tire out there is the Pilot Sport A/S.

Why would u want all season tires if u live in miami?

I personally would go for the toyo proxies. Excellent grip in rain, and AWESOME all around summer tire.

The Pilot Sports are summer performance. Real soft tires i've heard. Also heard good in rain.

not sure how they could be as good as the toyos in the rain, toyos have a MUCH more aggressive tread. The pilot sports seem to be a much harder compound than the toyos.

I'm interested in getting Toyo T1S in 235-45-17, with my stock 03 Cl-S Rims. Would this combination work, and how much performance would i lose from a wider tire if any? My car is an auto 03 Cl-S. Also, with these tires, does the odometer readout stay the same?

What is the treadware, with the Toyos Proxies S1 235/17/45? Also, is there any performance differences with wider tires, and any odometer or speedometer changes. Thanks for the help.

On my 225-40-18s, the treadwear rating is 280, the stockers are 300, so pretty damn close for all that extra performance.

pilot sport a/s are really good all weather.
I wasn't convinced until I switched rubber that it would make that
big a difference but I was really thrilled with the change in handling.
Bottom line is that any tire is better than the stocks

Anyone have suggestions for these two types of tires?

1) Summer performance (dry/wet)
2) All season performance (dry/wet/snow)

???

I've heard there are problems w/ the stock rims and 235. It's been done by people but there are problems w/ balancing and stuff with most regular tire places and then theres the rubbing issue. The suggestion most heard was to go w/ 225/45/17 and lose about 3.0-3.3% on the diameter and have inaccurate speedometer and odometer by the same amount. I didn't want to bother so I'm just keeping my crappy 215/50/17. There are some people going with 225/50/17 but I think that's worse than the 225/50/17 in distortion. 225/45 is about 3% smaller than stock, 225/50 is like 4% bigger than stock... I think. Search.

Renegade,

There is a ton of info on the board if you just do a search. In fact, it will overwhelm you. I am still runnin' stock and want to switch, but just haven't been able to narrow down all the choices. Too many variables as they say. In any case, you simply can't go wrong with the Toyos or the Bridgestone Potenza S03's. It seems to me those are the most favored by all CL-S folks. And believe me, I've read all the posts..... Finally, the size is an issue no matter what. I'm going 235/45/17 since way too many guys are running it with NO PROBLEMOS!

Good luck and keep on searching for the answers!

Pete
