Tiny rust spots on my trunk

When I waxed my car today, I noticed tiny rust spots on my trunk. I have a '01 Silver CL. Has anyone noticed any tiny rust spots on their car?

same shit, different color. Yet this is the first SSM car I have heard of with it. It is usually us white owners who get them on trunk and rear bumper. Clay bar shall help, and searching can't hurt either.
Welcome aboard!

It's probably not the car rusting, it's particles falling on the car. Clay bar it.

I have the same exact spots on my car, clay bar does help, just takes some time to get it off.

Check your bumper too, a lot of times it's metallic brake dust.

I get them every season during the winter.

First noticed them on my white Jetta - then on my white CL.

Waxing buffs them out, but it can take some time.

I've got an '03 SSM TL-S and I've got rust spots all over the rear bumper of the car. You can't see them unless you get really up close, but they still bother me especially because I'm a car detail freak. I talked to the dealership, and they said it's road debris and/or contaminants, or tree sap or something. Well, I find it really interesting that it comes to a dead stop before the trunk and fenders. My rear bumper obviously has a defective paintjob, but the dealership said, "use an orbiting buffer and get it out." Fucktards.

I see this all the time every couple weeks on my white CL. Rail dust is usually the source and it comes right off with any light/medium polishing compound.

I had the same problem all over my car. The dealer paid for a complete polishing and compound at a good body shop, haven't had any problems since, and they insure the paint for the life of the vehicle.

Strange here in LA. Are you near the beach? Is the car outside all night? My 01 is garaged at night but outside during the workday (covered in the summer) and no spots. Mine is Red.
