tinting windows

i have a silver 2002 cl type s with gun metal colored rims (and of course a black leather interior). i was wondering what percentage i should tint my windows (have never tinted my windows but think it will look nice--especially with the darker colored rims). i personally dont like really dark tinted windows. thanks in advance for suggestions.

Yeah i wouldn't go any lighter then 35%. During the daytime its not that dark but at night it still does its job quite well.

20% is your next step up, usually, and thats really dark during the day and at night its kinda tough to see out sometimes.

I have problems even w/ 35% in poorly lit areas at night. Nightvision backup camera would be nice

I just got 35% all around, looks great. If your not happy with that maybe look into 37% or 50%. If it is more of a privacy issue just get something that is more reflective from the outside, a mirrored look.

I should take some pics of my car, but it is supposed to rain for the next three days.

I just had mine tinted on my 01 black cl and i got 20% and i think that would be good for you. I payed 185 dollars for the tint install, a drop on the front windshieild, and lifetime warranty and im dissapointed in my choice of 20% cuz its actually light enough to see through from far away. i think 35% would be almost unnoticable. Il post some pics of it if you want.

Reflective tint is illegal in NJ. You may want to check and see what is legal in your area and what you feel you can get away with safely. That is of course only if you really care. Otherwise get what looks best, which I think 20% looks good on our cars.

35% is far from unnoticable. Here is my car with 35% all around. I choose a tint with a very small amount of reflection that really helps. From inside it is lighter than whats at the top of the windshild.

No tint is allowed on the side windows in Jersey, but I did it anyway.

That is part of my reason for going 35% all around.

The tint guy was telling the girl to get 35% on the back and 20% on the sides so if the cop looks in the back windows it doesn't look suspicious or anything and she still had privacy while messing with her boyfriend in the front seat.

Those pics look good. You don't really need any darker then 35% on a black car. 20% might have looked a bit better but it can be a pain at night. Sometimes.

ugh, how many times must this be discussed, there is the 35 group and the 5 group, and then some floaters in between, do a search

i put 5% all around on my silver CL-S and I love it. Keeps my privacy, keeps the car cool, and looks tight. Sometimes at night its hard to see out of them when like backing up, but it's no biggie. I've gotten used to it...
