EXACTLY….
The REAR window is the only one that matters with the factory NAVI because the antenna is under the rear parcel shelf and receives signals through the glass.
Metallic tint will also obscure rear RADAR signals, so I always recommend against it on a car.

Haven't had any problems with Tint. I have 35% Llumar all around and Navi works great!

Rain on the other hand, slows the system down.

Same here except i have 20% on the rear. However when i got my car back my Navi was screwed up. It kept going into diagnostic mode and wouldn't let me go to the map screen. After the tint dryed, about a day and a half, it went back to normal and has worked perfectly since. (2+ months)

as an aside.

If you have a spoiler and your tint is done well they will cover up your rear breaklight. They will need to rip out the rear seats and console undo the break light and tint the rear window.

Seeing that done to a brand new car is heartbreaking. And they did it pretty easily which is scary.

That may have even caused the temporary Navi problems.

Personally though, Navi works great and I'm glad I got it!

what kind of radar signals are you talking about? And does anyone know if the metalic tint reduces the reseption of the FM and AM frequencies and amplitudes?

well i had my windows tinted and the guy was able to slip the tint over the brake light without taking anything apart, go to a good tint shop and you should be ok

No idea.
I just know that it was on the Valentine 1 website that Metallic tint can reduce or completely block rear signals depending on the brand of tint.

This has been debated many times here.
My tint guy said he could do this as well, but couldn’t guarantee NO BUBBLES” so I took the rear parcel shelf out and it looks perfect.
He’s definitely experienced and knows his SHIT because I have been going to him since 1985.

True, I went with non-metallic tint as suggested by the tint shop. Once in a while my vehicle position on the navi screen will not be exact. However after a few seconds, it will correct itself. This is the only change I've seen after I had mi windows tinted.
